In Palworld, you’ll need to farm sulfur in order to make gunpowder (which you’ll need to make ammo).

After reaching level 46, you can unlock a placeable mining site for sulfur in exchange for five ancient technology points. The site costs quite a few materials to make (70 stone, 30 Paldium fragments, 10 ancient civilization parts, and 100 sulfur), so you will have to get your sulfur from one of the below places first. Once you make space for and place the dig site on your base, your mining Pals will be able to harvest a limitless supply of sulfur.

Below, we explain where to find sulfur in Palworld.

Update (July 17): This guide has been updated with a few new sulfur nodes, along with information from Palworld 1.0.

Where to find sulfur in Palworld

There are lots of sulfur deposits in the desert biome and a few in the bamboo grove to the west of it:

There’s other rock and ore in this area, too, but you’ll want to keep your eye out for the dirty yellow-ish rock as shown in the image at the top of this post. Below, we will point out the locations of individual deposits that you can easily reach in this area for a quick farm session.

The first sulfur node can be found at coordinates (-116, -139) in the Anubis Dunes:

Still in the Anubis Dunes, you can find another node at (-121, -122).

Southwest of the Anubis Dunes statue, there are two sulfur nodes. One at coordinates (-157, -112) and the second a bit to west at (-173, -116).

On the northeast side of the dunes, there are two other nodes at (-154, -58) and (-132, -69).

Now, in the bamboo grove, you will find a sulfur deposit at (-195, -103).

The second sulfur node you can easily reach in the bamboo grove is located south of the previous one at (-188, -136).

You can mine sulfur with any pickaxe and Pals of any mining level can help you farm it. Having at least a metal pickaxe (15 stone, 20 wood, 15 ingots) will make the job easier.

As usual, you can use Pals like Cattiva to increase your carry capacity so you can grab a lot of it at once.

There are also tons of sulfur deposits on the westernmost part of the map, around the volcano, Mount Obsidian, but since that is a mid-game area with tons of dangerous enemy Pals, we recommend sticking to the desert and bamboo grove.

When you do reach that point, you’ll find plenty of sulfur around. There are even seven sulfur deposits between the Eternal Pyre Tower Entrance fast travel point and the Tower of the Brothers of the Eternal Pyre tower around (-588, -518).
