You can finally obtain Mega Garchomp Z in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but you’ll need to accomplish a few things before actually using the creature in the game. Mega Garchomp Z is a brand-new form for the Generation 4 pseudo-legendary creature. It had been announced a while back, but it hadn’t been made available until now. Mega Garchomp Z is, technically speaking, part of the new Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s DLC, Mega Dimension.
While the majority of the new Mega Evolutions from the DLC were made available as soon as Mega Dimension arrived for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, Mega Garchomp Z was put on hold by Nintendo for release on a later date. Players could obtain new creatures like Mega Lucario Z or even Mega Magearna in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but now they can finally obtain the new form for one of the most beloved pseudo-legendaries in the franchise.
Where To Find Garchompite Z Mega Stone
To get access to Mega Garchomp Z, you’ll need to obtain a Garchompite Z Mega Stone, which was announced during the most recent Pokémon Presents (which also served as a stage for the reveal of the Pokémon Gen 10 games). As was revealed during the presentation, you’ll need to claim a Mystery Gift, which will set up an encounter with Mega Garchomp Z.
If you are able to defeat Mega Garchomp Z in this battle set in a special hyperspsace distortion, you’ll be rewarded with the Garchompite Z Mega Stone. Once this is done, all you’ll need to do is equip your Garchomp with Garchompite Z and accumulate enough Mega Energy to transform it into Mega Garchomp Z. It is important to note that your Garchomp will not be able to carry the regular Garchompite in Pokémon Legends: Z-A if they hold Garchompite Z.
How To Get Garchomp
The Best Way To Obtain This Pokémon Is By Training Gible
Image: Bruno YonezawaOf course, using Mega Garchomp Z won’t be possible if you don’t have a base Garchomp in the game. The best way of obtaining a Garchomp is by catching a wild Gible. You can do this in Wild Zone 8 in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, shortly after beating Main Mission 10. You’ll then need to train Gible to level 24, when it becomes available to evolve into Gabite. After that, level up Gabite to 48, when it can evolve into Garchomp.
Wild Zone 8 is located west of Jaune Sector 1.
Getting Garchomp can be quite an easy task, especially if you’ve already progressed deep into the game and, possibly, into the DLC. However, you can expect a tough fight against Mega Garchomp Z as part of the steps to obtain Garchompite Z, which is the final step toward unlocking the new Mega Garchomp Z in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
