Fortnite’s Winterfest 2024 event is underway and offering players some free presents, but most likely want to know how to get the best presents available: the Yulejacket and Santa Dogg skins. As the most distinct cosmetic items, skins are always highly sought-after rewards in Fortnite. To get Winterfest 2024’s new skins, you must understand the game’s present system and know where to open the right gifts.
You can open one free present daily in Fortnite’s Winter Lodge until the Winterfest 2024 event ends on January 7, 2024. These presents include in-game cosmetics like pickaxes, sprays, and weapon skins. The Yulejacket skin is in one of the presents in Fortnite’s Winter Lodge. More specifically, it is in the tall green box with the red bow. This box is located in the back right of the larger present pile in front of the fireplace. However, unlike the rest of the presents, you can’t simply open it and get the reward.

When trying to open the large green box, you are told to save it for last. This means you must open every other present before getting the Yulejacket skin. There are currently 13 gifts available to be opened, and a 14th is expected to be added at some point during the event.
Because you can only open one skin daily, you will need to log in for 14 days to open every present.
Because the Yulejacket skin has to be opened last, you can only get it if you log in for 14 days between now and January 7. If you haven’t already been opening presents, you will need to hop on immediately if they want to get the Yulejacket skin. If you missed out on the Yulejacket skin, you can at least take comfort in knowing that the Santa Dogg skin is easier to get a hold of.

Fortnite's Santa Dogg Skin Will Be Available On December 25th
If you want to unlock the Santa Dogg skin, you just need to open it as one of their daily presents. However, it isn’t in any of the boxes. Instead, the Santa Dogg skin will be released on December 25th to coincide with Christmas Day. If you want the Santa Dogg skin as early as possible, you will need to ensure you are opening the correct present to get him.
Luckily, some data miners seem to have discovered where Snoop will be hiding. A new present, a square box with gold wrapping, will appear on the carpet near where Snoop Dogg sits on the Winter Lodge couch. While players who have already been opening presents will likely notice when a new one pops up, anyone looking to log in and grab Snoop will want to look for this box.

Winterfest 2024 Is Introducing More Skins, Cosmetics, And Gameplay Features
The rest of the presents in Fortnite’s Winterfest 2024 are a mixture of generic holiday items and additional cosmetics for the Yulejacket and Santa Dogg skins. Apart from Santa Dogg and the Holladizzle bass, there’s a Snoop Dogg reindeer backpack and a pickaxe called the Dogg treat. Yulejacket has a unique weapon skin, a matching backpack called the Yule Bag, and the Humbug Slicer pickaxe.
The shop also has some new items if you want to buy additional cosmetics for Fortnite’s Winter Fest. The Mariah Carey bundle offers several outfits and accessories featuring the famous singer dressed for the holidays for both Fortnite and LEGO Fortnite. There is also a Santa Shaq bundle, which includes a skin of Shaq dressed like Santa and a unique backpack and pickaxe. If you prefer in-universe Fortnite skins, there is also the Guffmas Tree bundle and the Snowy Ops bundle featuring festive versions of Guff and Evelynn.
In addition to the new cosmetics, Fortnite is also getting a few new gameplay elements alongside Winterfest. This includes a Blizzard Grenade that creates an icy wind that slows and damages enemies. There are also the Icy Feet, two huge ice cubes you can use to skate around the map, even allowing you to walk over water. Finally, the event is stretching wordplay to its limit with Sgt. Winter’s Wintervestigation, a series of quests that enable you to earn XP.
