Around Christmas it is customary to get lost in hardcore F2P RPGs, or is it? If you have been spending any time playing Dark and Darker then, just around this time of year, you might have been finding a particular form of currency in the form of gingerbread cookies. And no, you cannot eat them.
If you have been confused about how to get and use them, then we are here to explain what kind of quest entails collecting a lot of different gingerbread cookies and what kind of reward you can expect from doing so.
How to use Gingerbread cookies in Dark and Darker
Gingerbread cookies in Dark and Darker are mainly used to complete one of Santa’s quests, the final one called “Gingerbread Stocking”. Outside of this quest, they don’t really have any use, not even as currency, and, also, they will disappear after the December event is over.
Cookies are dropped by enemies much like other currencies. Their drop rate, though, is pretty low, such as 0,5% for an Elite banshee or an Elite goblin axeman, with the rate being even lower (0,25%) for weaker enemies such as the Cockatrice or the Death Beetle. Similar drop rates also apply for chests as well.
As you might expect, collecting a hundred gingerbread cookies will entail a lot of grinding and defeating enemies. We would recommend stocking up on equipment and potions that give a boost to your Luck stat, while the stat will not improve the drop rate, it does make it more likely that defeating an enemy will allow you to collect a cookie.
How to complete Santa’s quests in Dark and Darker
As one of the special merchants in Dark and Darker, Santa will give you three different quests to complete in the game. The first one is quite straightforward, as the jolly merchant will task you with disposing of several targets, while the others are a bit more complicated. Here are all the Yultide Adventures quests that Santa will give you to complete.
