If you’ve been enjoying the Feybreak update of Palworld and are ready to test your skills, the first job will be to find and defeat Xenolord.
It’s a brand new raid that’s part of the latest update and a perfect activity for those who are ready to approach the endgame. Xenolord is no ordinary Pal, and to defeat it, you’ll have to complete a summoning process.
How to summon Xenolord in Palworld
Xenolord is a new raid, but it’s pretty different. To start the raid, you’ll have to find Xenolord by completing the summoning process. The process can be broken down into three major parts.
- Setting up the Summoning Altar: Once you’ve reached Technology level 33, you can unlock and create a Summoning Altar. Position the Altar as you want but try to create it away from your base. You won’t want your base to take unnecessary damage—and yes, it can happen if you don’t defeat Xenolord quickly.
- Crafting Xenolord Slabs: You can obtain the slab from a Pal Expedition Station. To do so, send your pals out on an exploration of the Dark Cave of Feybreak Island. Once completed, your Pals have a chance of returning with the slabs.
- Summon Xenolord: Once you have the slab, you can use it to summon Xenolord at the Altar. But be careful, as the raid will be quite difficult, and there’s no reversing your decision. Make sure that all your Pals have full health and you’re well stocked when it comes to ammo and weapons.
How to defeat Xenolord in Palworld
Defeating Xenolord is a nightmare, especially if you manage to summon the Ultra version. The strategy to defeat it will be the same, but the Ultra version does more damage and has more health. When it comes to team composition, a fun choice is using Frostallion as your active Pal and having a full team of Gobfin for the synergy and Ice-type attacks.
Ice-type Pals will have a natural advantage, while Astegon is worth considering for your base, as well. It can resist the Dark attacks. Then there is Jetdragon and Quivern, who have natural advantages against Xenolord’s attacks.
There seems to be a tricky way to get Xenolord locked into a combat mechanism. All you’ll need is an empty base and a Palbox. Make sure to run away from the Palbox, and you’ll notice that Xenorlord is locked in, landing Cosmic Meteor on the box. I am unsure if this is a bug, but you’ll be able to damage the Raid Boss from a distance.
Even if you don’t try out this method, an empty base makes a lot of sense. You can use other Pals to do your work for you. Make sure to be at Level 60 before summoning the boss. The Summoning Altar can be used only once, so don’t waste the resources by starting the Raid prematurely.
For armor, I would go with the best possible option you can have, and the newly added Lightweight Hexolite Armor is a great choice. Both the Double Air Dash Boots and Triple Jump Boots will be necessary as well.
For weapons, just go with either the Laser Gatling Gun or the Rocket Launcher. As an alternative, you can also opt for a Poison Arrow Crossbow, as Poison damage will chip away its health over time. Additionally, Xenolord has a large health pool, so the Poison will do more damage over time.
If you have the benefit of playing with other players, you should do that. Having a few of your buddies to help you defeat the latest raid boss will be extremely helpful. While the task won’t be easy, you’ll get a host of valuable rewards for your effort.
