“Yes, Your Lugubriousness” is Hades’ level four friendship quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley and is part of the Storybook Vale expansion. It’s a long quest with many steps, not to mention the unlock requirements, so here’s how to complete it.
Before you can complete “Yes, Your Lugubriousness,” you’ll need to have ticked off the following pretty extensive checklist:
- Unlock the following characters:
- Ursula
- Mother Gothel
- Vanellope
- Flynn
- Complete at least the first friendship quest for each of the following characters:
- Scrooge McDuck
- Remy
- Flynn
- Ursula
- Unlock the following buildings:
- Chez Remy
- Scrooge McDuck’s General Store
- And last but not least, you’ll need the following biomes of the Storybook Vale unlocked:
- The Fiery Plains
- The Wild Woods
If you’ve purchased the Storybook Vale and made it this far, you should have completed most of these things already, and the only potential roadblocks to your progression with Hades are likely to be Flynn, and unlocking further biomes. It’s a good idea to progress with Flynn before trying to progress with Hades and work to unlock as many biomes as you can.
How to complete “Yes, Your Lugubriousness” in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Hades wants to take on the challenge of taking over Chez Remy, which doesn’t seem like a disaster waiting to happen at all. Alas, we are but the tool for his schemes, so we have to facilitate his latest plan.
To start this quest, talk to Hades after he reaches friendship level 4 and then head off to find Remy to discuss the plan Hades has concocted. With Remy in agreement, albeit reluctantly, Then, you’ll need to gather up the following ingredients for Grecian Baked Fish:
- 2 Salt from the waters in Everafter
- Fished up in the rivers of Everafter outside of any present fishing spots
- 2 Elysian Grain
- Purchased from Goofy’s Stall in the Elysian Fields after upgrading it twice, costs 260 Star Coins
- 2 Olives
- Foraged from trees in the Elysian Fields and other Mythtopia biomes
- 2 Ambrosia
- Purchased from any of Goofy’s Stalls in Storybook Vale biomes, costs 140 Star Coins
- 2 Stygian Mudskipper
- Fished up from gold fishing spots in Mythtopia
Once you’ve got all of the ingredients, talk to Hades, then head to Chez Remy and listen to what Vanellope has to say about Hades’ cooking skills. In his anger, Hades will spurt seven blue fires out of his head and, as it’s never a good idea to use water on an oil fire, you’ll need to use your shovel to put all of the fire spots out.
With his experience in Chez Remy ending badly, Hades will move on to another idea and the decision is reached that he will now work for Ursula selling potions. Again, there’s no way this could possibly end badly.
Before you can head off to enact his latest scheme, you’ll likely need a costume change to fit in with Hades’ idea of a “proper salesperson.” You’ll need to wear black and blue clothes with the ‘Professional’ tag attached.
When you’re all dressed up, seek out Flynn and listen as Hades gives him the sales pitch. As predicted, it doesn’t go well, but you’ll need to go and get Hades’ wages from Ursula’s house regardless, so head there. Instead of finding Ursula, there will be a note saying that Hades’ wages would be in “a soggy place safe from Hades’ tempter.”
The ‘wages’ can be located in a golden fishing spot off the coast of The Bind, and it turns out to be a Fire Suppression Potion, which is a much-appreciated stab at Hades’ pride. With it in hand, head back to Hades and pass it on.
Even after the disastrous events of his previous “jobs,” Hades isn’t done. Now, he wants to work at Scrooge’s General Store, so go find him and ask whether he’d be willing to let Hades take over for the day. Scrooge will agree, reluctantly, and Hades will take on Mother Gothel as his first customer.
Again, in his anger, Hades will spurt fire into Scrooge’s Store. This time, use your watering can to put out the fires and then listen to Hades and Scrooge discuss the experience. When that’s finished, all you need to do is return to Storybook Vale and talk to Hades to complete the quest.
