When stepping into LEGO Fortnite Brick Life’s world, one of your first objectives is claiming an empty house lot and placing your new home down. Although you can change it later, your first choice is still important, especially if you plan to decorate your house later.
How to build a house in LEGO Fortnite Brick Life
Before building your first LEGO Fortnite Brick Life house, you’ll need to find an empty lot anywhere in the city. You’ll find these by looking out for red and white signs with a yellow glow in front of a massive empty plot of land.
You can also find exact locations for empty lots by opening your map and looking for small purple house icons. They’ll usually be on the outskirts of Brick Bay, but you’ll also find some apartments if that’s your preferred style.
Once you interact with this sign, you’ll claim the lot and find a list of available houses. The exact homes you can place depend on your progress in LEGO Fortnite, with options like the Imperial and Rebel buildings available if you’ve progressed through the Star Wars quest line.
Don’t worry, though. You can buy more, but it’ll cost a lot of in-game cash.

Within the house placement menu, you’ll find a Home Shop section marked with a shopping cart where you can spend your hard-earned cash on new building options. Most cost tens of thousands of in-game currency, but you have a few free options for shacks, walls, and other smaller builds.
You can also access this list on your phone alongside the decor section when buying furniture. You won’t be able to place the house right away through this menu, but at least you can purchase some and use it later if you’d like.
LEGO Fortnite Brick Life offers multiple ways to make money, from working jobs to claiming daily money rewards from ATMs. You’ll make money quickly but spend it just as fast, so think long and hard about which house you want before buying any.
