The Ke Ke Ke Ke Team Rocket Grunt is back in Pokémon GO to challenge in November 2024 with their own new team of various Pocket Monsters you will need certain counters for. Only found when interacting with PokeStops on the live map, this Grunt will challenge you to a battle against her latest team of Pokémon. While there are various Rocket members you can battle, this one's easily identifiable by their iconic phrase "Ke...ke...ke...ke...ke...ke!" Like the other grunts, Ke Ke Ke Ke's team is regularly rotated throughout the year, but unlike the Leaders, each Grunt has a typing theme.

For every Grunt, their team of Pokémon is switched up to include nine Pokémon of that same type, with three options that are selected at random for each three team members you'll then face. Because of the variety of party combinations Ke Ke Ke Ke can have with their nine potential team members, you will need to prepare well in advance with a distinct range of counters. Just like when successfully beating bosses like Sierra in Pokémon GO, defeating Ke Ke Ke Ke will net you helpful rewards that will be very valuable to any Trainers on their mobile gaming journey.

Use Dark & Ghost-Types

To beat the Ke Ke Ke Ke Rocket Grunt in Pokémon GO, you'll need to counter her latest team of Ghost-types in November 2024 - including Drifloon, Dusclops, and Gengar - with Dark-type Pokémon like Spiritomb, Darkrai, and Houndoom. Ghost Pokémon are still reliable options if you are short on Dark types, but it's preferable to go with the latter, since the former is also weak to any Ghost-type attacks Ke Ke Ke Ke's team may use on you. Nevertheless, if you manage to evolve Yamask in Pokémon GO, it is still a good backup. Try the counters in the table below:

Pokémon like Darkrai are your safest bet to come away from fighting Ke Ke Ke Ke unscathed due to their pure Dark typing, making them resistant to any Ghost-type attacks. Not even the new Gigantamax Gengar could defeat them so easily. However, there are also the secondary types of some of the Rocket Grunt's Pokémon with their own weaknesses you can exploit.

Pokémon GO: Best Moveset For Gengar & Is It Any Good?

Use this Gengar moveset in Pokémon GO to have the very best version of the Shadow Pokémon, including its Fast Attack and Charge Attack.

For example, Golett is part-Ground-type, making it also weak to Water-type attacks from counters like Kyogre. Alolan Marowak is part-Fire-type, which means you can use Rock, Ground, and water-type attacks from powerful counters like Rampardos, Kingler, Excadrill, and Rhyperior.

Be sure to use Dark or Ghost-type attacks through Pokémon of the same type to get a 20% STAB (same-type attack bonus)

Rewards For Beating Rocket Grunts In Pokémon GO

Shadow Pokemon Encounter, Stardust & More

A Mysterious Component given out as rewards for beating Team Rocket Grunts in Pokémon GO

Like when defeating any Team Rocket Grunt in Pokémon GO, beating Ke Ke Ke Ke will give you 500 Stardust as one of your rewards, followed by an encounter with the first Shadow Pokémon they used, so you can try and catch it for yourself. With their current lineup, this means you will be able to catch a Shadow Drifloon, Duskull, or Gollett for your growing collection. You will also be given a Shadow Shard. These are especially useful since you can combine four of them into a Purified Gem, which you can use to subdue a Shadow Raid boss.

The last reward, a Mysterious Component is arguably the most important if you're trying to hunt down Rocket Leader bosses. This is because when you earn six of them and combine them together, you will create a Rocket Radar, which can direct you to the locations of stronger bosses like Cliff or Giovanni. You can find bosses at random, but this makes the hunt a sure thing. Just remember to use mostly Dark-type Pokémon as counters when facing Ke Ke Ke Ke's lineup of Ghost-types in Pokémon GO during November 2024, and victory along with those rewards will be yours.
