Julie Chen Moonves Reveals Two Co-Hosts Forced Her To Leave "The Talk"
The Talk has officially said "Goodbye."
After 15 seasons and 2,993 episodes, the CBS daytime show came to an end on Dec. 20 with a heartfelt farewell from hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O'Connell and Sheryl Underwood.
The episode began with a standing ovation for the cast and crew, which prompted Jerry to joke, "I just wanted to know why everyone's being so nice today? What happened?"
And as The Talk's Instagram account noted in their stories, "Starting the show with some tears and laughs is only right for us."
The final episode featured multiple montages honoring each of the current hosts, and also looked back on The Talk's history by tapping into just a few of their over 10,800 guests, with the likes of Rob Lowe, Shemar Moore, Lisa Rinna and 50 Cent sending in their love.
But it wasn't all emotional: The hosts also got a bit of a roasting when Howie Mandel arrived to present them with individualized Talkie Awards.
Natalie was awarded Best Competitor, while Akbar was named Most Likely to Crash a Cooking Segment. The Pillow Prizefighter award went to Amanda, and Sheryl—who has been with the show since season two—nabbed Best 1-800-Shout-Out. Not to be left out, Jerry was given the Talkie for Best Performance by a Topless Host, a nod to all the times he's removed his shirt during his three years on the show.

And all the emotions were on display at the end of the episode, when Natalie made a "toast to The Talk" on behalf of the cast and crew.
"We thank you all for watching and laughing, sometimes even crying along with us," she said. "We thank everyone for being here with us. Our wonderful crew here with us every day, to the producing team, to our wonderful, loyal audience."
She continued, "So many of you who have filled these seats day after day, time after time. Our wonderful executive producers, past and present. To the most wonderful people here in daytime, we're going to miss you all so much."

The episode concluded with a credits sequence featuring all of the crew members working on the show.
The Talk—positioned as an alternative to ABC's The View—was originally created in 2010 by actress Sara Gilbert, who served as one of the original hosts alongside Julie Chen Moonves, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Janet Winokur. Other notable hosts over the years have included Aisha Tyler, Eve and Marie Osmond, to name a few.
During its run, the show earned 14 Daytime Emmy Awards, taking home the Outstanding Talk Show Entertainment trophy in 2016 and 2018. CBS announced the cancellation in April, noting in a statement at the time that The Talk "has been a key program on CBS' top rated daytime line-up as it brought timely, important and entertaining topics and discussions into living rooms around the globe."
