Mason Disick Gets a Mercedes G Wagon From Dad Scott Disick for 15th Birthday
Scott Disick is keeping it real with his kids.
The Flip it Like Disick star, who shares children Mason, 15, Penelope, 12, and Reign, 10, with ex Kourtney Kardashian, revealed he doesn’t sugar coat his past struggles with alcohol abuse and even shared detained the candid conversations he’s had with Mason about his addiction.
“The truth is, I do explain to Mason how drinking affected me and how badly it put me in certain places, and he knows that,” he told Khloé Kardashian on her Khloé in Wonder Land podcast’s debut episode Jan. 8. “And he for a while thought I would treat him differently because of that. And I said, ‘I’m not treating you any different because of my mistakes or how I lived.’”
“‘But if I see a problem with alcohol with you, I will take actions,’” the Kardashians star added. “‘You’re gonna try drinking when you’re gonna try drinking. But if I see a problem that’s hereditary then I’ll jump in. But until then, you’re treated like every other kid.’"
Scott’s battle with alcohol has been publicly documented since his time on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and caused friction in his relationship with Kourtney—which officially ended in 2015 after 10 years. In 2020, after being sober for three years, Scott entered a treatment facility in Edwards, Colorado.

In addition to speaking to Mason often about a healthy balance with drinking; he points to Mason’s aunts Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian as a great example for his eldest to follow.
“I talk to him all the time about it,” he shared with Khloé. “And I’m just like it could take you down a really bad road, or it could be a really fun road. I feel like Kendall and Kylie are a perfect example of, they’ll go out, they’ll have some drinks…and they are the perfect mix—where Kim didn’t even drink—but Kendall and Kylie they’ll go have a few drinks, they’ll have fun and nothing more.”
Khloé—whose 2007 DUI was also documented on the show—noted her own issues with alcohol and reflected on the well-documented moment during Kim and now-ex Kanye West’s 2014 wedding where she and Scott got drunk during the pre-wedding party in Paris at the Palace of Versailles.
“We had a drinking competition,” the Good American founder recalled. “And I took an entire bottle of vodka, I was also going through a divorce, I was not in the best place. And you and I started wrestling on the floor in front of thousands of people.”
After being shamed by their family and being hungover on the way to Italy for the ceremony, Scott noted that he and Khloé wouldn’t redo that moment today.
“That was so crazy to look back at that now,” he said. “Like obviously you still have fun. But we would never be throwing bottles around and wrestling through the Versailles.”
