Lady Gaga Welcomes First Baby With Michael Polansky
Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky are gonna keep it cool with their new baby.
Two years after getting engaged, the Grammy winner and her fiancé recently welcomed their first child together. And, according to Gaga, motherhood has always been on her mind.
"I would like to do many things. All of these things are open. But, what I really want is to be a mom,” she shared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in October 2025. “That's my next starring role, I hope."
And while the 40-year-old (real name Stefani Germanotta) initially had “a lot of apprehension” about becoming a parent, she was also “excited to be a mom.”
“The thing that’s the most important to me is to not force my children to live a life that they are not choosing,” she told The New York Times in 2025. “So the more that we can give them space to discover who they are on their own, that’s the thing that I believe in the most.”
“If our children only understand Mommy’s job, that’s a very narrow view of life,” she added. “There’s so much in the world, and I want them to be able to choose for themselves who they want to be.”
Still, she was nervous at the time about what her life would look like as a mother, wondering how she could be “passionate” about her career while “making more space for other things” at the same time.

Thankfully, Gaga was able to find the perfect partner in Polansky, who she went public with in February 2020. In fact, she and the tech entrepreneur spoke at lengths about raising a family together before starting their brood.
“That's something Michael and I have talked about a lot—allowing our kids to be their own people,” she shared with Elle last year. “It’s such an intense thing for kids coming into the world. And they're told how to think and what to believe in and how to eat…I just kind of want to let my kids find out who they are.”
“I would want my children to understand that whatever my artistry means to them is totally up to them,” Gaga added. “I would never actually want to shape it or tell them how to think about me. Maybe other than that I just did my best. And tried to stay true to myself along the way.”

A Romance is Born
Following her 2019 breakup from Christian Carino, Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky were spotted sharing a kiss on New Year's Day in January 2020.

Gaga made her new romance social media official in February 2020, sharing a photo of her sitting on Polansky's lap at the Super Bowl on Instagram with the caption, "We had so much fun in Miami. Love to all my little monsters and fans, you're the best!"

Despite keeping a low profile since the start of their relationship, Gaga has let her love for Polansky, an entrepreneur and former CEO of the San Francisco-based Parker Group, shine through over the years. As she captioned a photo of the two in March 2020 with the caption, "I've got a STUPID love."
The Oscar winner also called Michael "the love of my life" during an April 2020 interview with MSNBC's Morning Joe.
And in March 2021, he surprised her with a massive flower arrangement for her 35th birthday, prompting Gaga to share on Instagram, "I love you honey. I can't wait to be home with you and our dogs, that's all I need."

Also in 2021, following the February attack on her French bulldogs and dog walker Ryan Fischer, the "Born This Way" singer made a rare comment about her and Polansky's life together, telling The Hollywood Reporter, "My dogs and the man that I love are my whole life."

Rumors of an engagement between the couple first started swirling in April 2024, when Gaga stepped out wearing a massive diamond ring on that finger. But at the time, the duo were keeping tight-lipped on the speculation.

Days after Gaga kicked off the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, performing Zizi Jeanmaire's "Mon Truc En Plumes" at the opening ceremony, she finally confirmed the engagement by introducing Polansky as her "fiancé" during a conversation with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.

After winning Artist of the Year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, the "Abracadabra" singer praised Polansky for his partnership on her Mayhem album and for loving her in a way she has "never known."
Alongside a pic of the pair on a hike, she wrote on Instagram, “You are MY artist of the year. And the love of my life. I love you.”
