Pregnant Hailee Steinfeld Reveals Josh Allen's Valentine's Day Request
Hailee Steinfeld is on the edge of motherhood.
The Sinners actress—who announced she was welcoming her first baby with husband Josh Allen in December—shared a glimpse inside how she’s preparing for the arrival of the couple’s little one.
“This week, I was sitting on the couch in my family room, and the reality that our little family is about to grow really started to settle in,” Hailee shared in the Feb. 20 issue of her Beau Society newsletter. “Of course, I have all the to-do lists (which you know I love), and I’ve been busy with research and the general life reorganization that happens when you’re about to have a baby.”
That said, the mama-to-be is also doing the inner work before her and the Buffalo Bills quarterback’s baby is born.
“But the most profound and grounding part of getting ready for this baby has been the introspective side of it: the quiet conversations I’m having with myself almost every day,” she explained. “Sometimes I find myself asking big, lofty questions (what am I going to be like as a mom?) or having vivid daydreams of what our life is about to look like when the three of us are cuddled up in the nursery together.”
“While tuning in, I’ve experienced this surreal, full-body awareness that our world is about to expand in beautiful ways,” The Edge of Seventeen star added. “We’re getting ready to meet someone we already love so much. I’ve racked my brain for words to describe that feeling, and I don’t have them yet. Maybe that’s the point. For now, I’m blessed to be settling into the feeling.”
Hailee and Josh, both 29, announced that they were expecting in a sweet Dec. 12 social media post. Since then, the “Starving” hitmaker has been experiencing her “nesting phase.”

“Unsurprisingly, putting together a nursery has been a joy for me,” she wrote. “I’ve gone back and forth on tiny details more than I care to admit (why is choosing a rocking chair this emotional?), but seeing it all slowly come together has made our new life feel more tangible. Emphasis on ‘slowly’ coming together—it’s all still very much a work in progress.”
But she’s been able to count on her village every step of the way.
“Between helpful texts, voice notes, and the passing ‘you’ll thank me later’ advice, I’m starting to feel more prepared for a newborn,” she explained. “Plus, last weekend my mom threw the most beautiful baby shower at our home (more to come on that next week in MORE BS), which added to the ‘this is really happening’ feeling.”
