EXCLUSIVE: Experiment 11, a new horror title from the creators of Scare Tactics and The Blair Witch Project, is set to start production next month in Canada and will be on offer at this year’s Cannes Market with Prestige International Pictures.
Scare Tactics creator Kevin Healey will direct the film from his original story and screenplay. Healey is producing with executive producers Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale, who created and produced The Blair Witch Project. The film will be set inside a mysterious medical research facility where a group of participants are forced into a rapidly escalating experiment with consequences tied to the future of humanity.
Corey Tindall and Carson Howell of Tillt Studios are also serving as executive producers along with Anthony Standberry of iThink Productions. Eric Birnberg, Thomas Walden, Thomas Vencelides, and Lainie Elton are also producing for High Park Entertainment, the Ontario-based studio. The company’s credits include Out Come The Wolves and Trigger Point.
“I’ve spent much of my career exploring the intersection of horror, realism, and social experimentation, so Experiment 11 feels like the culmination of everything I love creatively,” Healey said in a statement.
“To now be collaborating with Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale — whose work on The Blair Witch Project fundamentally changed immersive horror for an entire generation — is surreal for me personally,”
He added: “This film is ambitious, experimental, psychologically intense, and designed to blur the line between cinematic storytelling and reality in a way audiences haven’t experienced before.”
