Saving Stellar Jade to pull for Mydei or Tribbie in Honkai: Star Rail 3.1 can be a difficult decision based on the limitations surrounding the resource and how much of it can be obtained through F2P (free-to-play) methods. Currently, the turn-based RPG by HoYoverse is at the start of Version 3.0, an update that initiated the game’s third year of content. Version 3.0 introduced Amphoreus as a new explorable destination on the Trailblazer’s adventure, as well as the many figures that help populate The Eternal Land. In the patch, the only obtainable Amphoreus character in Honkai: Star Rail is Aglaea.
While the Goldweaver is the only playable character as of Version 3.0, many more are expected to arrive during the game’s future updates. The Chrysos Heirs, the heroes of Amphoreus, are all expected to become playable units following their introductions as NPCs during the Amphoreus story arc. This includes characters like Phainon, Castorice, and Anaxa, for example. However, there are already two characters set up for release in Version 3.1, the next patch. Both Mydei and Tribbie have been officially confirmed by HoYoverse as 5-star characters in Honkai: Star Rail 3.1 and new leaks have even detailed their potential kits.
Mydei & Tribbie Are Confirmed For Honkai: Star Rail 3.1
Both Are Upcoming 5-Star Characters
Even their debuts as NPCs in the main story arc, Mydei and Tribbie had already been confirmed as the next characters on HoYoverse’s release calendar. Mydei is a 5-star Imaginary character on the Path of the Destruction, indicating that he will be a main DPS in team comps capable of sustaining himself, even if he puts his life at risk during combat – this is the formula for most characters on the Path of the Destruction after all. The first leaks about Mydei’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail 3.1 confirm that he loses HP to boost his damage output.

Correctly building The Herta in Honkai: Star Rail can transform her into a very powerful multi-target DPS character, but there are some requirements.
Alternatively, Tribbie is confirmed to be a 5-star Quantum character following the Path of the Harmony. Because of her Path alignment, it’s natural to believe she will be a support for team comps, possibly conceding buffs so that her allies have a better performance in battle. Tribbie’s leaked kit in Honkai: Star Rail 3.1 shows that she does this in some capacity, but it seems like her main role in team comps will be that of a sub-DPS, making her a unique type of Harmony character. To decide between both units, players may have to better understand how they’ll work.
Leaks Highlight Mydei & Tribbie's Kits & Animations In Honkai: Star Rail 3.1
Mydei Is Rumored To Be A Reckless DPS, While Tribbie Seems Like A Sub-DPS & Support Hybrid
The gameplay kits for both of the units have been leaked ahead of Version 3.1’s release. The leaks show that Mydei will be a main DPS capable of having a high Max HP and that this stat will dictate the power of his attacks. The aforementioned kit shows that Mydei’s passive allows him to further increase his Max HP by losing HP during combat and then enhances his Skill so as to deal extra damage to enemies. Furthermore, Mydei’s page on Honey Hunter World shows he will be able to restore his own HP, like Blade in Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail Anaxa Kit Leaks Show Silver Wolf May Finally Be Put To Rest
The first details about Anaxa’s gameplay kit in Honkai: Star Rail have been leaked, showing that they may be a viable substitute for Silver Wolf.
Additionally, there have also been leaks about Mydei’s set of animations, both in the overworld and in combat. The footage was obtained by the leaker known as Dim and shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit. The video shows that Mydei uses red crystal-like elements to execute the majority of his attacks. Across most of his active abilities, Mydei seems to conjure red crystals and make them explode on enemies. In his enhanced Vendetta state, he is also seen summoning his red lion, which had already been featured in previously leaked Mydei animations in Honkai: Star Rail.
While the lion was previously speculated to be related to his Ultimate, the leaked footage shows that the creature (which is not a memosprite or a regular summon) appears in one of Mydei’s two possible Skill enhancement forms.
The leaked gameplay kit for Tribbie, as shown on Honey Hunter World, indicates that she will be capable of increasing all her allies’ All-Type RES PEN with her Skill. However, her main specialty should be dealing damage and Additional DMG to opponents via her Ultimate’s zone. The leaked kit shows that Tribbie’s damage scales off her Max HP, too, but that she can increase this stat based on the Max HP of her teammates, which should make her a great sub-DPS for Mydei in Honkai: Star Rail, who is expected to have a large Max HP pool.
Furthermore, the leaks say that Tribbie can launch a follow-up attack after allies use their Ultimate, dealing damage based on her Max HP. The set of animations for Tribbie, which was also leaked by Dim and shared in a post on Reddit, shows that the Harmony character attacks opponents with a cannon. With her Skill, Tribbie seems to apply Numinosity on herself, which is the effect that grants the aforementioned All-Type RES PEN to allies. The animations also show Tribbie using her Ultimate, as well as her follow-up attack after Mydei uses his own Ultimate in Honkai: Star Rail.
Mydei & Tribbie Are Very Different From Each Other In Honkai: Star Rail
Players Should Consider What They Most Need For Their Character Roster
Overall, Mydei and Tribbie are very different from one another, despite both seeming like damage dealers in team comps. Mydei should be the central figure in the team comp, responsible for carrying the largest amount of damage output against enemies. His HP-loss mechanic is a gamble, especially when facing tougher opponents, but that is compensated for with what seems like a high level of Imaginary DMG thanks to his HP-scaling properties. If players are looking for a powerful DPS with tank-adjacent qualities (thanks to his rumored high Max HP), Mydei seems like the perfect character in Honkai: Star Rail 3.1.

A classic character from Honkai: Star Rail may get a brand-new form in Version 3.X patches, shedding hope for other outdated and powercrept units.
Alternatively, Tribbie seems like a blend between a support and a sub-DPS. Her rumored All-Type RES PEN buff to allies should be extremely valuable, as it will allow the entire party to deal more damage. Aside from that, Tribbie will likely contribute immensely as a secondary source of damage. She should be considered an aid to the main DPS. Tribbie should have a high Max HP build by default to ensure she deals more damage, but it’s unsure how much more she can deal in Additional DMG based on the Max HP of allies.
This may make her reliant on characters like Mydei, Blade, or Fu Xuan in Honkai: Star Rail, which would be a huge downside to her potential gameplay kit’s performance.
Based on the leaks, if players have a way of ensuring that Tribbie has a high Max HP stat with her own build, aided by at least one other character with a high Max HP stat in the party, it’s likely that she will become a valuable sub-DPS and buffer for this type of team comp. Players who are in doubt between Mydei and Tribbie should consider what they need the most and if they have what seems needed to take full advantage of the character they choose to pull for in Honkai: Star Rail 3.1.
