Holland Taylor has revealed she turned down the chance to star opposite her long-time partner Sarah Paulson in a movie because they find the idea 'creepy'.

Paulson, 51, has been in a relationship with the 83-year-old screen icon Taylor since 2015.

Despite working in the same industry, the couple have agreed that starring alongside each other would make them feel uncomfortable.

Explaining why she refused to star in a project with Paulson, Taylor said: 'We were just talking about that, about a particular project, and I said, "I don't know, it seems kind of eww".

When asked what the project was, Taylor refused to say, adding: 'Oh, I'm not going to say now.'

Taylor further explained: 'I mean, I just thought, eww. I said, "Wouldn't it be creepy?",' before recounting Paulson's response: 'She said, kinda.'

'So no, we don't think we would ever like the idea,' Taylor said.

Despite their long-term romance, the couple, who have a 32-year age gap, have no plans to marry anytime soon.

Last year, Taylor revealed why she and Paulson have no plans to marry after 11 years of dating.

While appearing on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show, the Emmy Award winner made a rare remark about her relationship.

She explained why she doesn't believe they will ever tie the knot.

'I don’t think [we’ll get married],' Taylor, who typically keeps her love life out of the spotlight, said. 'No. We’ve never talked about it with any interest.'

The queer icon, best known for portraying Judge Roberta Kittleson on ABC's The Practice, noted that a legal contract just 'doesn't seem to mean to [them] what it means to a lot of people'.

She went on to point out that they wanted to walk down the aisle than they 'would'.

After Andy said he loves how in love they seem, Taylor gushed that they 'do have a wonderful resonance'.

'We are very interested in the same kinds of things, and yet we share big differences,' the star added.

Still Taylor said their age gap does cause some 'big generational' differences that 'worry' her, at times.

'But what can I do?' the performer asked. 'A lot of the things that she is going through that are very emotionally important to her right now, I went through 30 years ago or 40 years ago.'

Neither Taylor or Paulson have ever been married. Previously, Paulson was engaged to playwright Tracy Letts.

In an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in January 2019, Paulson admitted Taylor sneaked into her DMs after they began to follow each other on Twitter.

She gushed about her partner previously on the Dear Chelsea podcast with comedian Chelsea Handler.

Sarah said: 'I think she’s the smartest, wisest, funniest, most extraordinary person I’ve ever met. So I can’t imagine not being with her. I just can’t.'

'I just feel very, very lucky to be around someone so incredibly witty and funny and smart and, I think, incredibly sexy.'

'I find her to be the most beautiful woman. I tell her all the time, like, she’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen and she always will be.'
