Hogwarts Legacy left many fans eager to see where the Wizarding World could go next after becoming one of the best-selling and most successful games in recent years. While Avalanche Software has yet to reveal any major details about the sequel, anticipation continues to build as players speculate about the features and improvements they hope to see in the next installment.

Expanded RPG mechanics, improved companion relationships, a more reactive morality system, and the chance to explore entirely new regions beyond Hogwarts are just a handful of what fans are hoping to see next. Many are also looking for a main story with a bit more meat on its bones, so to speak, as well as additional magical creatures, playable Quidditch that actually has some sort of impact on the game/story, and a general ability to shape their witch or wizard's path that doesn't feel quite as linear.

With Warner Bros. confirming that a Hogwarts Legacy sequel remains a major priority, one of the biggest aspects fans are looking forward to is the size of the game overall, but particularly the size of the castle itself in Hogwarts Legacy 2 (via Reddit).

Hogwarts Legacy 2 potential teaser

With anticipation growing by the day for Hogwarts Legacy 2, fans have high hopes for how Avalanche might make the experience much more immersive and expand upon what proved to be a good start with the original. SherbertFlaky4303 argues that "the castle should be filled with 10x the content," with "many many hidden rooms with collectibles and also challenge level rooms like in the first 3 pc games of Harry Potter. I remember how each class had a challenge room that was a whole level and it was awesome."

HL gamers largely agree, with Neamow pointing out that while many were "amazed at the castle in [Hogwarts Legacy]," they found it "a little bit disappointing." They go on to note that, while capturing the general sense of what Hogwarts felt like, "it really didn't feel like the castle in the books with hundreds of random rooms, dozens of random [corridors], dozens of classrooms (active or disused), hidden staircases and shortcuts, etc."

Hogwarts Legacy Flying Area

Fans in the thread have plenty of great ideas that could make Hogwarts feel much more authentic and book-accurate, ranging from Bully-like gameplay mechanics (Rockstar's hit school ground-based action game from 2006), roguelike elements that would see procedurally generated rooms and add variety to the experience, and more.

Overall, gamers agree on one thing, which is that Hogwarts Legacy 2 will be a major disappointment if it regurgitates the same basic collectible/puzzle-based structure for the castle itself. Fans will certainly be keeping their fingers crossed that Avalanche keeps this in mind as they progress on development for the highly anticipated follow-up.
