After seven years, fans of KonoSuba were finally greeted with a third season in 2024. The wait paid off: at the time of writing, KonoSuba's third season on MyAnimeList has an 8.37/10 score averaged across more than 170,000 votes. With such success under its belt, fans are dying to know when its fourth season will finally arrive.
Unfortunately, there hasn't yet been any word on that front. There's a lot to love about the hit isekai, though, and although there are many anime in the same vein, KonoSuba scratches a certain itch few others can. Fans looking for new material to tide them over will be delighted to learn that a new teaser trailer has just dropped for KonoSuba's upcoming OVAs.
The Trailer Comes Ahead Of A Theatrical Premiere And BD Release
KonoSuba's OVA teaser was uploaded to YouTube early on December 12, 2024. The teaser is in anticipation of a theatrical release in Japan on March 15, 2025. It will also receive a two-disc BD and DVD release on April 25, 2025, per @AniTrendz on X.
Exact information about the OVA's plot is unclear, but it looks to be good ol' fashioned fun detached from the overarching narrative of the series. The goofy, melodramatic tone of the teaser—which seems to mostly forecast the smash-hit isekai's first beach romp—is par for the course for KonoSuba. Because of KonoSuba's overall tone (and its OVAs historically being even more over-the-top than the core series), the new episodes will be a refreshing gift for the series' still-parched fans while they're anxious about its future.
