A silly glitch has caused one Stardew Valley player's horse to multiply and even show up in their house, causing much confusion. The highly anticipated Update 1.6 has finally arrived in the title, adding new content to the beloved indie farming and life sim. It's also inevitably brought a few hiccups and glitches, which developer Concerned Ape is working to resolve.
Reddit user bpdboyy has shared one of these glitches, posting a screenshot from the game that shows them owning five horses named Elliott and one, for some reason, Kurtis. One of these horses found their way into the player's home, making themselves at home and adding further chaos to the situation. According to bpdboyy, the glitch may be caused by a console co-op bug that caused their horse to "disappear into the void" any time they entered a building.
Stardew Valley's Multiplying Horse Glitch Leaves Player In Search Of The "One Real Elliott"
It's Not The One That Invited Itself Into Their Home
Seeing your horse multiply overnight is already concerning, but in this case, it's made even worse by the realization that the horse currently inside the player's house is one of the clones and not the original. The Redditor claims that their horse is wearing a hat and is safely housed in their stable, "so the salt on the wound is that the horse in my house is one of the impostors, not my actual horse." They describe the issues they had with their multiple horses, and their quest to narrow down the clones to the "one real Elliott" using the horse whistle.
Comments on the Reddit thread have honed in on the one lone Kurtis, who seems incredibly out of place in the sea of Elliotts. "I believe the lore is that Elliott has developed his own cloning technology and Kurtis cannot," writes KingBowserGunner. User Nopkar has a different take on the situation: "Kurtis brought his brothers to work the farm, Elliott, Elliott, Elliott and Elliott." Much of the rest of the comments section consists of jokes, memes, quoting silly songs, and even an ode to Elliott.
Stardew Valley 1.6 Update Has Caused Some Glitches, But They're Already Being Resolved
Concerned Ape Has Even Written Lore To Explain One
Fans of Stardew Valley have been eagerly awaiting the release of Update 1.6, which ported the latest version of the game to all consoles and added many additional upgrades. Now that the update is finally live, players are discovering a few issues and glitches, many of which have already been patched at the time of this writing.
Unlike many other games, which cause irate responses from fans over glitches, Stardew Valley fans know developer Concerned Ape is doing most of the work on his own and are appreciative of the effort he's put into this update. As a result, players are having a bit of fun with the title and glitches, instead of getting angry.
Concerned Ape has joined in on the silly fun on X, adding lore to a glitch that's causing chickens to disappear if the coop door is left open on the first day: "There is a wild coyote on the farm." The wholesome response to these glitches shows how positive the Stardew Valley community is, no matter how many of their chickens disappear or how many horses mysteriously reappear in their place.
