Hilarious moment Taylor Swift makes director Steven Spielberg record her and Travis Kelce DANCING during Songwriters Hall Of Fame Induction

Taylor Swift shared a hilarious moment with Oscar-winning Steven Spielberg during the 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame Ceremony in New York City on Thursday.

The 36-year-old songstress, who recently enjoyed a wild night out at the Knicks game this week, celebrated her induction alongside fiance Travis Kelce at the star-studded event.

Once the festivities kicked off, the Grammy winner was also seen sitting at a table with her parents and her future mother-in-law Donna Kelce. 

Spielberg was seated at the same table directly next to Swift and in a video shared by Vanity Fair to X, she could be seen grooving to a song being performed on the stage with the NFL player joining in.

The Bad Blood hitmaker held a phone in her hand while attempting to film both herself and Kelce as they jammed out to John Fogerty singing lyrics to Fortunate Son. 

Swift could be seen briefly leaning down and had a brief exchange with Spielberg.

She then handed him the phone as he began filming the couple before smoothly panning to the stage. 

Social media users offered their thoughts on the interaction with one penning, 'taylor swift filmed by stephen spielberg wasnt on my bingo card.' 

Another wrote, 'Taylor and Travis dancing while Steven Spielberg films them... this timeline is unreal.' 

'Steven Spielberg filming u on his phone is actually crazy lol,' a fan typed, and one added, 'so casual just one of the greats directing a personal video of you.' 

Another shared, 'He would get the good lighting,' and an X user said, 'Only Taylor Swift could actually ask Steven Spielberg for filming help.' 

'That's so iconic!!!' one commented, and another penned, 'not taylor asking one of the greatest directors EVER to record her with her phone.' 

A fan also said, 'Taylor asking Spielberg to film her & Travis dancing is like universes crossing over. Thats so freaking epic. My mind just cant handle all of this.' 

Some speculated that the phone actually belonged to the director as one penned, 'other way around, it's Spielberg's phone and he gave it to her to film.' 

Swift walked the red carpet solo during the evening but was later joined by Kelce inside the venue shortly before the event kicked off. 

The sports player flew out of Missouri to the Big Apple amid the Kansas City Chiefs minicamp ahead of the upcoming NFL season.

Swift was just one of the inductees during the 2026 ceremony and was also supported by both of her parents Andrea and Scott Swift as well as her future mother-in-law Donna Kelce.

In another video shared to X, the Grammy winner could be seen sitting next to Kelce at a table inside the Marriott Marquis Hotel where the festivities took place.

At one point, Swift gently rested her hand on his back in an affectionate move which caused the Chiefs tight end to scoot his chair in closer to her.

Swift's mom Andrea then reached her hand over to greet Kelce just as the induction ceremony kicked off.

A reel uploaded by Variety captured Swift and the filmmaker sharing a brief lighthearted exchange at their table.

The singer then started dancing in her seat as Rihanna's track Umbrella was being performed on stage.

She was also seen draping her arms around Kelce in a loving embrace as the pair both stood next to each other during a performance in a clip shared to X.

Swift joined other music artists who were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame this year including Kenny Loggins, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS, Walter Afanasieff, Alanis Morissette, Terry Britten and Graham Lyle as well as Christopher 'Tricky' Stewart.

Last year during an appearance on BBC Radio 1, the songstress admitted that she had been worried her songwriting would 'dry up' if she was ever in a 'happy' relationship.

'I used to have this dark fear that if I ever were truly happy and free, being myself and nurtured by a relationship, what happens if the writing just dries up?' she expressed.

'What if writing is directly tied to my torment and pain? And it turns out, that's not the case at all, and we just were catching lightning in a bottle with this record,' Swift added, referring to her The Life Of A Showgirl album.

'But it's nice because you're coming from a place of happiness and love, you can go back to those places. You can look forward to other things.'

Swift and Kelce have been romantically linked since 2023 and are reported to say 'I do' this summer.

The Daily Mail previously confirmed that Swift and Kelce are set to tie the knot in New York on July 3.

It was previously speculated that the couple would say 'I do' at her lavish Rhode Island estate.

A source also claimed to the Daily Mail last week that the couple could tie the knot at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

However, other insiders have alleged to the Daily Mail that the the MSG location is a 'distraction plot' and not the real venue for the anticipated nuptials.

It was also previously claimed that guests who received an invitation have also been required to RSVP with a signed NDA to help keep details of the nuptials private.

TMZ reported last month that the music artist is inviting guests and celebrity pals to her upcoming wedding via phone call. 

However, guests have not been informed of the exact location of the nuptials or a specific date. Instead, they have been told to keep schedules open for the summer. 

Insiders told TMZ that calling guests rather than sending traditional invitations is meant to keep wedding details private and prevent leaks.

Insiders also told The Daily Mail that guests won't know the location until the morning of July 3.

Some guests have additionally been informed that they cannot bring a plus one to the wedding. 

While Kelce was seen supporting Swift at the Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony, the singer notably walked the red carpet solo.

She wore a strapless black Givenchy by Sarah Burton dress with a corset bodice as well as colorful floral details on the material.

A daring, thigh-high slit was seen on the right side of the ensemble and she also slipped into a pair of open-toed, black heels.

And on Wednesday, Swift made an appearance to cheer on the Knicks during game four of the NBA Finals.

She was joined by friends Alana and Este Haim as they scored courtside seats inside Madison Square Garden.

Swift showed her support for the team by wearing a blue shirt that had 'Stevie Knicks' in orange lettering on the front.

After the match, Swift and her pals further celebrated the Knicks' big win at Zero Bond alongside other celebrities such as Sombr.

Kelce was absent from the big game as he spent time in Kansas City in preparation for the upcoming NFL season.
