Hellbound Cast & Character Guide

4 hours ago 2

Adapted from the fantasy comic book from 2019, Netflix’s Hellbound includes some of the most talented actors from South Korea. The King of Pigs, Peninsula, Train to Busan, and Hellbound director Yeon Sang-ho first explored the series’ supernatural world in 지옥: 두개의 삶 or The Hell (Two Kinds of Life), an 11-minute rotoscope-animated short film that was finished in 2006. Hellbound season 1 received critical acclaim, and became one of the best horror K-dramas on Netflix.

In 2020, Netflix approved the production of the first season of the series, which was released in 2021. While Hellbound season 1 was a resounding success, Netflix didn't immediately renew the show for a sophomore season. Hellbound season 2 took three years to return to Netflix, initially premiering at the 29th Busan International Film Festival before being added to the streaming platform on 25th October. The Hellbound cast, which is tasked with unraveling a dark and intimately compelling fantasy world, did an incredible job of bringing Yeon Sang-ho’s story to life.
