Heavily pregnant Natalie Portman, 45, reveals her intense wellness regime as she prepares for third child: 'It's almost like a cleanse'

Natalie Portman has opened up about her third pregnancy, four months after revealing her baby news.

The 45-year-old Oscar-winning actress, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Tanguy Destable, 46, said she continues to eschew animal products.

'I'm still vegan. I take lots of vitamins. I try and sleep as much as possible,' she dished to Elle magazine.

The star also said, 'I try and do some kind of physical activity every day. I either swim or walk, and do gyrotonics. I also feel like being pregnant is almost like a cleanse because you don’t drink and can’t have caffeine. So I’m like, wow, I've never been cleaner in my life.'

Portman announced her third pregnancy in April, telling Harper's Bazaar, 'I'm just very grateful. I know it's such a privilege and a miracle.'

She previously welcomed son Aleph, 15, and daughter Amalia, nine, with ex-husband Benjamin Millepied, 49.

Portman relocated to Paris nearly a decade ago, and spoke with Elle about the differences between healthcare in the United States and France.

'I find the doctors to be amazing in both places, but they do have different landmarks for pregnancy and some of the tests they recommend are different,' she shared.

The Black Swan star explained, 'The biggest difference for me is a socialized versus not-socialized approach to medicine. When you’re in a socialized medicine country, they’re trying to do the best for the most people, without making you pay for extra stuff. 

'Whereas, in the US, they’re like, "Well, if you want this, we can add this." You can see that it is also a business.'

The actress and her ex, who married in 2012, finalized their divorce in February 2024. 

Millepied quickly moved on from the relationship, and it was revealed that Portman was 'not surprised.'

The two were married for 11 years before Portman filed for divorce in July 2023, following reports that Millepied had allegedly cheated with a woman 21 years his junior.

He was spotted kissing a woman on October 15, 2024 in Paris, according to Us Weekly, with the outlet's source revealing Portman's feelings about his swift return to the dating scene.

'Natalie isn't surprised that Benjamin has moved on because of how their relationship ended,' the person said. 'She thought he'd move on pretty quickly.'

Elsewhere in her chat with Elle, Portman said her sense of scent has been stronger amid her pregnancy.

'Scent becomes much more present for me when I’m pregnant each time, for better or worse. I was at a restaurant with a friend of mine the other night, and I was like, "There’s gas. There’s a problem."

'My sense is much more potent and it must be something to warn you about danger, because I am hyperaware of gas and smoke.'

Portman's father, Dr. Avner Hershlag, is a fertility specialist.

The actress said in her Harper's Bazaar profile in April, 'I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant.

'I have so many people I love who've had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that. It's such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it's also not an easy thing.'
