He-Man creator Roger Sweet has been forced to launch a GoFundMe amid his heartbreaking dementia battle.
The 90-year-old toy designer is also behind the Masters of the Universe toy line, with a live-action motion picture based on the Mattel media franchise set to be released later this year on June 5.
His wife Marlene set up the page where she announced his dementia diagnosis which has 'continued to progress.' She also asked for help to cover costs for the memory care facility he has moved to.
'Roger is now nearly 91 years old and sadly has dementia,' she wrote. 'His illness has continued to progress, and I have done all I can to take care of his needs at home.'
She explained that her husband recently went on a walk and returned home disoriented and had bruises on one of his sides.
After a trip to the emergency room, Sweet was admitted into the ICU for two brain bleeds.
Due to his dementia battle and being at a high risk for falls, doctors recommended he go to a memory care facility to be 'monitored and safe.'

Sweet recently made his move into a facility to receive full-time care.
'He has only been there a few days and his mental decline is sadly continuing. It is devastating to see this happening,' Marlene wrote.
His wife - who has been married to Sweet for almost 40 years - then noted that monthly costs amount to over $10,000 monthly 'for a patient in his condition' and is not covered through Medicare.
'So I am reaching out to all the HE-MAN fans for help with these bills. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will ease the burden of this new expense,' she added.
In her message on the GoFundMe, she talked about Sweet's impact on the toy industry during his career, such as being 'a toy designer at Mattel for over 15 years.'
'Roger designed and named the original He-Man character, and worked for years with other designers to create all the other characters and playsets that enthralled kids for so many years - and still do today!'
Before his health battle, Sweet had the chance to meet a number of fans at events and conventions over the years.
'I was able to accompany him to several, and it was fun to see him interacting with HE-MAN fans.'

'It's the hardest thing I've ever done; it was a daily challenge,' he admitted. 'But there is something incredibly empowering about committing to something so heavily.'
