Focus Features stars celebrate the women who define the brand and how their own roles continue that legacy in “Women in Focus Features”, a new series co-produced by Focus Features and Rotten Tomatoes!
In our inaugural episode, Hayley Kiyoko, director of the new coming-of-age romance Girls Like Girls, joins Rotten Tomatoes and Focus Features to share her experience composing her directorial debut. Kiyoko talks about her passion for centering queer romance in cinema and how she longed to see a hopeful future for people like her reflected in the movies. She shares how proud she is to count herself among the “small but mighty” community of women directors and shares two films directed by women who inspire her: Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet and Emerald Fennell’s Promising Young Woman.
