Harry Styles sparks fury over 'insane' NYC concert ticket with eerie 9/11 nod ahead of 25th anniversary

Artwork on a Harry Styles concert ticket for Wednesday's show has generated controversy for its imagery in the days ahead of the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The back of the ticket for the English singer's Together, Together tour appears to show a yellow vehicle with a figure in it flying over the Empire State Building.

Styles, 32, is in the midst of a Madison Square Garden residency that commenced August 26 and wraps up October 31. 

Friday marks the 25th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center, with a number of events planned to pay memorial on the solemn day. 

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Styles for further comment on the story.

On X, reactions varied to the artwork, with one person commenting, 'This pic on 9/11 week is diabolical' and another wondering, 'who approved this?'

'Putting that on the back the week of 9/11 is f*****g insane,' someone else added. 

'Nahh this was not a good idea,' yet another fan wrote, while another commentator called it a 'huge oversight.'

Another user said that the symbolism of the picture rang inappropriate considering the timing.

'A little bold given its 9/11 week in NYC but the colors are cute!' one user said.

One user said the topic was not one to be lighthearted about.

'Uh…no. Sorry. Nothing funny about 9/11,' the user said. 'Not even 25 years later on some Harry Styles ticket artwork that was prob never meant to be taken as a reference and was poorly timed to be used is funny if people immediately link it to that event.'

The One Direction alum remains on the tour trail after having done shows in London, Mexico City, Amsterdam and São Paulo, with concerts in Australia on the slate.

Styles is on the road following the release of his album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally earlier this year.

'When we decided to do the 2026 tour I knew it would be special but what you turned it into was far beyond what I could have imagined,' he said. 'I love playing music, I love being with all of you and being a part of the love and joy you all create together every night.'

Styles continued, 'That’s why I wanted you to be the first to know we will be adding 2027 dates, which honestly, at first I found daunting.

'Being an artist is the only life I’ve ever known really, I have been doing this since I was 16 years old, and I feel like the luckiest person in the world to still be sharing these moments with you.'

The three-time Grammy-winner wrapped up in saying, 'I can’t wait for us to keep dancing with all our friends, I hope to see you there.

'Thank you for coming out to see us, and for all the love and support you’ve given me over the years.'
