Harry Styles Shares Insight Into Music Hiatus in Candid John Mayer Interview
Harry Styles is getting involved in a hairy situation.
In fact, the One Direction alum recently joked about his longtime hair transplant rumors.
While confirming that indeed his teeth are real on the Feb. 25 episode of Brittany Broski’s Royal Court, Harry quipped, “This hairline though.”
The 32-year-old quickly laughed it off, adding a playful, “No no.”
Rumors of Harry possibly going bald first started to circulate in 2022 after Deux Moi posted a blind item about an “A list musician/occasional actor” who was “almost completely bald” and wearing a very lifelike hair piece. Fans began to wonder if the person in question could be Harry.
In fact, the rumors became such a hot topic of conversation that even Harry's friend and music collaborator Kid Harpoon (real name Tom Hull) brought it up to him.
“He’s completely obsessed with it,” Harry shared with Rolling Stone in 2022. “He won’t stop sending me messages about [people] trying to work out if I’m bald.”
The “As It Was” singer confirmed to the outlet that he wasn’t balding just yet, and was hopeful it wouldn’t be an aspect of aging that he wouldn’t have to deal with.
“What is it with baldness?” he mused. “It skips a generation or something, right? If your grandad’s bald then you’ll be bald? Well, my granddad wasn’t bald, so fingers crossed.”

Throughout his career, Harry’s hair has often made headlines. In 2023, criticism surrounding Harry’s surprising buzzcut even prompted his mom Anne Twist to push back at the online commentary, asking that her son be shown the same level of kindness he advocates for.
"When you consider that H has a legacy of kindness and inclusion, has always made every effort to make everyone feel seen and appreciated for exactly who they are," she wrote on Instagram in 2023. "There's an irony in the negativity he's been shown for having a haircut. Sorry but I don't get it."
She added, “Breaking news: It's hair! It's his! Also it will grow back. If he wants."

For now, Harry and his current ‘do are focusing on his music as his new album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally is set to be released on March 6, marking his first full-length album since 2022’s Harry’s House.
And as Harry explained, taking time away to be “on the other side of the audience experience” was incredibly meaningful for him.
“That's the music that I wanted to make,” he shared during a January appearance on SiriusXM. “I wanted it to feel like it was made from the dance floor."
