The fact remains, though, that they are dead by the time the first book even starts, and so there's plenty we don't really know about them, particularly as a couple. Though their individual stories are explored somewhat, particularly Lily's relationship with Petunia and James's time at school, where he didn't necessarily cover himself in glory from a peer support perspective. Their time as a couple remains largely a mystery.
That could all be about to change though, as a new time-limited release is about to go live that puts Harry's parents front and center.
As first reported by GameRant, Hogwarts Mystery, the 2018 mobile RPG that remains startlingly popular, is about to release a new Castle Chronicles story entitled "The Girl Who Loved." In sharing a very brief look at what fans can expect from the new story, the developer released the following statement:
“In ‘The Girl Who Loved,’ our first all-new Castle Chronicles story, a forgotten memento connected to James Potter and Lily Evans will carry you into Hogwarts’ past as you learn about their enduring love story from those who knew them best.”
The developer is yet to share any further information about when the story will go live into the game, or how extensive it will be, but you can expect its arrival in the next few months if they follow the usual cadence in relation to announcements.
That's not the only fun new content that's coming to Hogwarts Mystery in relatively short order, as players will also be able to enjoy the new Special Adventure “Magick Most Evile,” where “whispers from the Hogwarts’ Restricted Section uncover a dark secret from your families’ past.” What exactly those whispers are (or where they come from) remains to be seen, but it certainly feels like it could be a lot darker in tone than other Adventures.
At the same time, Volume 3 Chapter 7 is set to continue the main story of the game later this month, where you’re trying to research the Wizarding War in the Ministry Archives in order to discover information that could save a close friend.
At the same time there are millions of fans waiting in the wings to see exactly what HBO has been cooking up with their own take on the Harry Potter series. The reveal trailers so far have received a mixed response from fans, but the proof will be in the proverbial pudding when the full show releases on Christmas Day, December 25, 2026.
