With a slightly thinned-out roster and a deep-freeze blast of NYC winter weather, Broadway did a decent job of holding its own last week, the 29 productions (down from 31 the previous week) pulling in a total gross of $30,170,014. That’s about 5% shy of the previous week’s take when Mamma Mia! and Liberation played their final weeks to strong audience numbers.

In all, attendance for the 29 shows during the week ending February 8 was 256,752, a 5% dip commensurate with the grosses tally.

About half the shows saw drops in box office, with Oh, Mary! sliding about $208,846 to a still-strong $845,264 during John Cameron Mitchell’s first week as the title character. Attendance was at 97% of the Lyceum’s capacity.

Having a particularly strong outing was Oedipus at Studio 54. As Deadline reported yesterday, the revival starring starring Mark Strong and Lesley Manville played its final, sold-out week to a house-record-setting $1,212,949, a jump of $279,616 over the previous week.

Other sell-outs for the week were Buena Vista Social Club ($911,334), Just In Time ($1,314,310) and Ragtime ($1,090,011).

Filling at least 95% of seats were Chicago ($1,316,977); Hadestown ($890,647); Hamilton ($1,848,898); Marjorie Prime ($355,568); Maybe Happy Ending ($1,022,741); Moulin Rouge! ($944,452); Oh, Mary! ($845,264); Operation Mincemeat ($756,900); The Outsiders ($931,783); and Wicked ($1,596,259).

Falling below the 80% of capacity mark were Six ($525,436) and All Out: Comedy About Ambition ($575,480). The latter show welcomes the latest of its rotating casts on February 17, with Ray Romano, Nicholas Braun, Jenny Slate and Jake Shane making their Broadway debuts.

Coming in at just over 80% of capacity (83% to be exact) was Two Strangers (Carry A Cake Across New York) at the Longacre. Gross for the week was $620,603.

Top five earners for the week were Harry Potter and the Cursed Child ($2,339,937), Hamilton ($1,848,898), Wicked ($1,596,259), The Lion King ($1,514,057) and Stranger Things: The First Shadow ($1,400,514).

Season to date, Broadway, in the 36th week of the 2025-26 season, has grossed $1,360,545,472 up about 8% over last year at this time, with total attendance of 10,169,492 up 3%.
