Halle Berry finally reveals what happened to her iconic orange Bond girl bikini 20 years after film's release

Halle Berry is revisiting the iconic orange bikini she wore in the 2002 James Bond movie Die Another Day.

The Oscar-winning actress, 59, appeared on the Drew Barrymore Show this week, where she was asked by an audience member if she got to keep the stringy two-piece swimsuit.

'Yep!' the star said, confirming she's the owner of the vibrant bikini more than two decades after the film's release. 

Meanwhile Barrymore emphasized, 'Now that's a question! It lives rent free in all of our minds.'

Berry, who recently confirmed she's set to wed longtime boyfriend Van Hunt, was first seen in the now-iconic look as she emerged from the beach as the character Jinx.

The swimwear was paired with a thick white belt that sat low on her hips and housed a knife in a holster on one side.

In a 2021 conversation with Vogue, Berry discussed the iconic James Bond orange bikini, emphasizing that curating the perfect ensemble was no easy task.

'We tried on so many bathing suits,' she told the publication. 'So many bikinis and so many belts.'

'We had a knowing that it would maybe, because it was in a Bond movie, become an iconic situation… something that would live a very, very long time,' the star added.

Berry also claimed that studios were too scared to support a James Bond spin-off based on Jinx.

Producer Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson lobbied for the character to get her own movie, although the studio MGM was put off by an $80 million price tag.

Berry called the decision 'disappointing' in a 2020 cover story with Variety.

'It was ahead of its time. Nobody was ready to sink that kind of money into a black female action star. They just weren't sure of its value. That's where we were then,' she said.

Berry continues to captivate audiences with her timeless beauty, and in August she shared a sizzling bikini clad photo on Twitter to mark her 59th birthday. 

Berry leads an active lifestyle, sticking to a strict health, wellness, and fitness routine.

In September 2024 she told Marie Claire she feels 'better and stronger' now than she did in her younger years.

She credited red light therapy, regular gym sessions, and a sugarless diet with keeping her youthful.

'Age is just a number that they stick on us at birth,' she told the magazine, adding, 'I feel like I’m now at the pinnacle.'

To maintain her health, Berry takes 'a cocktail of vitamins and supplements,' plus progesterone, testosterone and estriol.

The silver screen siren also uses hot and cold treatments to balance her health regimen.

And for many years she's leaned on personal trainer Peter Lee Thomas to stay fit for her demanding movie roles.
