Control of Congress hangs in the balance as Americans rush to cast their final ballots. In the Senate, Democrats must flip four Republican-held seats to gain control. In the House, they need to pick up just three seats.

The first polls closed at 6pm ET and the last polls wrap up at 1am ET. Then the nation will wait as ballots are counted across the country to find out whether Republicans or Democrats will take power.

Actress Brooke Shields, 61, wore a sticker from 2024, as she explained: 'I voted absentee this year because I’m on set, so I didn’t get a sticker… but the message still stands from 2024!! GET OUT & VOTE!'

Just kidding, Republicans can stay the f**k home. You’ve done enough. Queer the vote. Period. #vote #voteblue,' he wrote in his Instagram caption.

'One voice is a solo that will need a microphone to be amplified while millions of voices is a chorus that can’t be drowned out by deceit, lies, or tricks. It’s time to sing a new song. The greatest trick is to tell you that your vote doesn’t matter. THAT IS A LIE!! Get out and vote!! Every vote counts including yours.
