Gypsy Rose Blanchard's Partner Ken Urker Had Drug Paraphernalia at Time of Death
New information about Ken Urker’s death is coming to light.
The boyfriend of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who was found dead in Louisiana on his 34th birthday, had drug paraphernalia next to him when he died, according to a police report obtained by E! News.
When officers entered Ken’s Raceland home following the request for a welfare check, the report stated they saw him lying on his back in his bed and “located paraphernalia (syringes and spoon) in the bathroom next to a brown powdery substance.”
“Deputies located a syringe and a handgun on the nightstand next to the bed,” the report continued. “Mr. Urker was found lying on the bed on his back, cold to the touch, and appeared to have been there for an extended period of time. His face and his arms were blue. He had a paper towel placed on his left arm with what appeared to be blotches of blood on the paper towel.”
Responding officers further noted that the handgun was holstered on the nightstand, “laying next to two shot glasses and a syringe.”
Gypsy Rose’s younger half-brother Dylan Blanchard, his wife Anita Blanchard and Ken’s boss, Justin Daigle, who had initiated the welfare call, were on the scene with police when his body was found. Dylan and Anita told police that Ken had been at church with them the evening of Sept. 30 and that he “made comments of being depressed and upset.”
Justin added that when Ken didn’t show up for work as scheduled, the three decided to check on him.

Following the completion of the autopsy, the medical examiner shared an update on where the investigation into Ken’s death stands.
“At this time, there is no definitive cause of death,” the Lafourche Parish Coroner's Office said in a statement to E! News. “The case remains pending completion of toxicology testing, and no further information regarding the cause of death will be available until those results are received and the investigation is complete.”
Shortly after Ken’s death was confirmed, Gypsy Rose—who shared daughter Aurora, 21 months, with Ken—said that he had overdosed before dying at his home.
“I’m in disbelief. I can’t think,” she told People Oct. 1. “I’ve screamed until my throat burns.”
