The launch of Grand Theft Auto VI is, finally, on the horizon with the most anticipated video game of all time expected to release this November. Following two major delays, multiple leaks, rumors and guessing, we are finally on the home stretch with players soon able to dive into the world of the next Grand Theft Auto entry with brand-new protagonists, Jason and Lucia.

When Is GTA 6 Dropping Its Gameplay Trailer?

With December 2023 and May 2025 being the current releases for Grand Theft Auto VI's trailers, there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when we could expect the third one. However, that has not stopped fans over on r/GTA6 from working on when trailer three will drop, and according to their calculations, we do not have long to wait.

"We are potentially 5-ish months away from a gameplay trailer," one user shared just yesterday. "When GTA 5's gameplay trailer was released, it came out on July 9, 2013, and the game was released on September 17, 2013, which was two months and eight days apart.

Then RDR2's gameplay trailer was released on August 9, 2018, and the game was released on October 26, 2018, which was two months and seventeen days apart. According to those timelines, we should see the GTA 6 gameplay trailer around early September 2026, with my guess being September 10, as it falls on a Tuesday."

Tuesday is mentioned here as it seems to be the day that Rockstar will always make its big announcements, so this math does actually add up. Additionally, as we are now closer to the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI than we have ever been before, things are definitely getting serious.

GTA 6 Fans Are Already Seriously Excited

Following this exciting Reddit post, fans soon took the comments to share the excitement, and it really does remind us all that Grand Theft Auto VI is shaping up to be the most successful and popular video game of all time. Let us just hope that Rockstar does not fall at the final hurdle. For now, however, the excitement outweighs any possible concerns.

"A month away from trailer 3/pre-orders. Few months away from marketing beginning. 7 months away from release. We're almost there, people!" One user shared. Another agreed with this sentiment, adding, "We are in this together, buddy! Let's hope not another delay." However, with another user sharing, "I still don’t know how I’m going to play this game. PS5’s gone up in price — and that’s not even a 60fps experience", it is also worth noting that the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI is not all sunshine and rainbows.
