With it being just over six months to go until the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, rumors are beginning to swirl about its potential price point. After all, with past rumors suggesting that the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto entry could cost up to $100, it is no wonder that potential customers are worried, but a recent leak suggests that the price will be a lot more respectable.
At the time of writing, Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November 2026 following two major delays. However, it is also worth noting that it has been well over a decade since the launch of the most recent Grand Theft Auto entry, Grand Theft Auto V, meaning that players are well overdue a return to Rockstar's iconic franchise. With no third delay in sight, it seems as though we are on the homestretch, but with no sign of a third trailer, price, or even a pre-order window, fans are starting to feel worried.
Whilst we cannot report on the long-awaited third trailer, we have recently received more information about the potential price tag and pre-order date for Grand Theft Auto VI thanks to a leak shared over on r/GTA6. It is here that one user shared a recent discussion that took place over on the RockStation Twitter/X account. Apparently, an employee who works at a "large UK game retailer (not GAME)" commented on one of RockStation's posts with information regarding GTA VI's price. This is what they shared:
"I work at a large UK game retailer (not GAME), and I just had the press pack through. Pre-orders open 12 May, and the price is £69.99. Looks like only one version so far. Should be 69.99 euros. No bundles for PS5 yet, but I think Sony will send something later on this year."
Rockstar GamesOf course, there is no way of clarifying if this statement is true, and so it is worth taking all of this information with a pinch of salt. However, with recent rumors suggesting that May will be a big month for Grand Theft Auto VI when it comes to marketing, it would make sense that this is also the month when the price and pre-order information are also revealed, especially with a Take-Two earnings call expected to take place on the 21 May.
As you can imagine, the comments were filled with a mix of excitement and outright disbelief. "All this build-up just for absolutely nothing to happen on May 12. I hope I’m wrong," one user wrote. "I'll believe this s*it when I actually see it from Rockstar," another added. Whilst others claim that their uncle, John Rockstar, has not confirmed this information, others are trying to stay optimistic, with one user sharing, "It's got to happen one day. Have some faith." So, here's hoping that May will be a big month for Grand Theft Auto VI.
