James is a gaming writer from London who has spent thousands of hours exploring titles from every genre. Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. When he's not playing or writing, he can usually be found supporting his beloved Brentford FC.

The release of Grand Theft Auto VI is officially, finally set to go ahead on November 19, after two delays and more speculation than we have ever seen for another video game's arrival. There's no doubt it's going to be an absolute behemoth to play through, with an enormous open-world and potentially hundreds of hours of content to explore.

It's also going to be enormous commercially for Rockstar, who will need it to be after spending north of $1.5-2 billion on the project. Most estimates have the game drawing in a lot more than that, though, and it really is set to dominate the end of the year, which unfortunately has a lot of other game development companies and publishers running for the hills.

Over on Reddit, one user shared a post discussing the recent revelations from the State of Play, that Tomb Raider remake Legacy of Atlantis has officially been delayed to February 10, 2027. The game had been intended for release this year, and it could have been pushed to allow for more development time, but GTA VI looming will certainly have come into their thinking.

This is just the latest game to go running for the hills, and fans are actually not super happy that so many titles are being delayed, even though GTA VI is going to be a great time. "This is pretty annoying. I was planning to get this and Fable but GTA was definitely going to be my priority. Hopefully nothing else gets delayed," one of the responses read.

While another added, "This is the main thing that’s annoying me about this game is that the industry is constantly shifting because of this one game. I hope it doesn’t get delayed, not so much that we’d have to wait longer for the game, but more so because it means other games will be affected."

"Note that Feb 10th is about 3 months after Nov 19th. I suspect someone figured it's going to be that bad of an aftershock once GTA VI is out," a third said.

For now, all we can do is wait and see what the big developers and publishers decide to do to accommodate the upcoming release of GTA VI. Most absolutely do seem to be going for the avoidance technique though, so if your favorite is scheduled to come out later this year, maybe don't get your hopes up too much.
