GTA 5 Freebie Officially Yours To Claim For Next 48 Hours

Grand Theft Auto 5 continues its era of domination. Although GTA 6 is slated to come out in November, it's only going to be available on consoles for the time being, and it'll need quite a bit of time to work up to the level of success that GTA 5 has enjoyed so far. As one of the best-selling games of all time, it keeps selling to this day, and GTA Online has a lot of money flowing through it in any given week.

That's because, in part, Rockstar has tirelessly updated the game since launch, gradually adding in features to GTA Online and the core game, keeping people in for over a decade. We've yet to see what the new iteration of GTA Online will be like, but for now, it's just an idea.

Thanks to a new promo from Rockstar, you can grab a free download for Grand Theft Auto 5 now. Just know that you have a time limit as of this publication, since the freebie is only available for another 48 hours.

Right now, GTA Online is running its "Motor Madness" event, which is live for another 48 hours, with bonuses. Here's the breakdown of the event: "Rev your engine and get ready for two weeks of automotive mayhem as Los Santos is engulfed in the high-octane, nitrous-infused action of Motor Madness."

As far as the bonuses are concerned, they're also live. By logging into GTA Online, you can snag a free Rockstar helmet. Right now, the following additional rewards can be claimed in GTA Online through May 27, so long as you purchase specific vehicles:

• Purchase any vehicle displayed in Simeon’s Premium Deluxe Motorsport showroom to receive the Rockstar Racing Suit.
• Buy any vehicle from the Luxury Autos showroom display to receive the LS Customs Varsity Jacket.
• Earn your street cred a quarter mile at a time when you buy any purchasable vehicle featured inside the LS Car Meet to receive the ferocious Blue Banshee Tee.

It's really quite impressive how tenacious the community has been for GTA Online. They've single-handedly kept the game running this long, and given that it's not even the core element of GTA 5, it's wild how successful it's been on top of the legacy the core game has built for itself.

Even when GTA 6 explodes onto the scene and starts breaking sales records, GTA 5 will forever be remembered for the impact it's had. Its success helped lead to the ambitious development of the sequel and is propping up multiple arms of Take-Two to this day.
