Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams Make First Major Appearance Together

Gracie Abrams isn’t sorry for keeping the details of her romance with Paul Mescal close.

The “I Love You, I’m Sorry" singer addressed the constant chatter surrounding her low-key romance with the Gladiator II star. And frankly, it doesn’t concern her.

“That has nothing to do with me,” the 25-year-old told Nylon in an interview published Dec. 17. “It doesn’t affect me.”

Gracie—the daughter of filmmaker J.J. Abrams and Katie McGrath—was first spotted with Paul, 28, in London in June. In the months that have followed, the singer and the Normal People actor have been photographed on shopping dates, with Paul supporting Gracie when she opened for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Miami in October.

In November, Gracie and Paul—who dated Phoebe Bridgers for two years before their 2022 breakup—stepped out for their first major event together at the Gladiator II premiere party in Los Angeles. Though the pair didn’t walk the red carpet together, they were cozied up while being photographed together inside the party.

Lately, the duo have been spending time in the Big Apple, where they marked back to back milestones, with Paul hosting Saturday Night Live on Dec. 7 and showing up to support Gracie when she was musical guest a week later.

But amid their support for one another, they are content keeping their romance out of the spotlight.

"I mean, the speculation has been kind of mad for the last x amount of years," Paul explained to GQ in October. "I'm not comfortable inviting any access into that part of my life. How I am in my private life is so precious to me because I get very little of it, and it might be public interest, but it's not public-obligated information."

And the Aftersun alum sees keeping a separation from his personal life and career necessary for multiple reasons.

"I've learned that there's certain lines in the sand now for me that just are going to be impenetrable for the benefit of my own sanity, but also the benefit of my work," he added. "If you don't have those boundaries up in terms of lines in the sand in regards to your private life, people know way too much about you and then they can't invest in the imagined landscape of your character because they know what your favorite thing to eat for breakfast is."
