Chaos has reportedly descended backstage at Good Morning Britain's studios as awkwardly located toilets have led to 'embarrassing moments' for some of the show's stars.
At the beginning of the year, it was all change for the ITV programme as GMB moved from their White City home to ITN’s Central London headquarters amid company-wide cost-saving measures.
However, much delayed renovation works at the Gray’s Inn Road studios have disrupted things backstage, with it said that loos are located much farther away from the set than they previously were.
This has led to some mad dashes back to set from some of the presenters, with a recent notable example seeing Laura Tobin forced to admit she had returned from a comfort break after she was grilled by Richard Madeley over her tardiness.
Meanwhile, Adil Ray was forced to start a live interview with guests Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu without his co-star Kate Garraway, who had to sheepishly sneak in during the chat after having returned late from a commercial break due to the toilet distance.
A source told The Sun of the backstage difficulties: 'The hosts are on air for four solid hours, with only several short chances to take comfort breaks. They’ve been really honest with viewers about being caught nipping to the loo in the ad breaks, but due to the ongoing building work it makes it tricky to dash to the far-away bathrooms and get back quickly.

'They laugh it off but it’s awkward to have to explain to the nation every time it happens. The presenters have been good sports but it’s starting to get a bit much.'
The insider went on to add: 'At Television Centre the loos were literally across the corridor from the studio. Now they’re a couple of minutes walk away and ad breaks aren’t long enough for that.'
It is said that the 'main issue' is that ITN's building works are at this stage, almost nine months delayed, meaning there is much disruption in the building.
The publication added that while there was a toilet closer to the studio, it had been out of order for some time, although it is now thought to have been fixed.
A GMB spokesperson was said to have commented: 'After a short interruption to their usual flow, our studio toilets are working again, so this story can go down the drain.'
The Daily Mail contacted a representative of Good Morning Britain who declined to comment.
It comes after it was reported back in February that tensions were rising at ITV daytime's new studio over its lack of space – leading to stars having to share toilets and dressing rooms.
In January, in a series of cost-cutting measures that saw approximately 200 staff axed, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women all relocated to a smaller, underground studio in Covent Garden in central London.

Tensions were said to be rising at the new ITV daytime studio over its lack of space - leading to stars having to share toilets and dressing rooms - apart from Lorraine Kelly
With all three programmes now sharing a single studio, it's resulted in Loose Women losing its live studio audience.
However, it's now been reported that stars such as Cat Deeley, Ben Shephard, Dermot O'Leary, Alison Hammond, Ruth Langsford and Kaye Adams are all being forced to share dressing rooms and use communal toilets.
An insider claims Lorraine Kelly, 66, is the only star to have her own personal loo inside her dressing room.
They told The Sun: 'There have been quite a lot of issues since the team's relocation to the new smaller studios.
'As well as the cramped space, presenters have had to give up their personal dressing rooms and loos. Lorraine is the only one who has her own private throne.
'But even she has to share it, with guests frequently popping in.'
They added that recently Christine Lampard was forced to change in a meeting room and the lift has been breaking down.
The Daily Mail contacted ITV.
A spokesman said: 'ITV daytime have been at the new state-of-the-art multi-storey studios for over a month now and have adapted to the new surroundings successfully.
'The new space and look is on the back of an increase in audience share year on year and digital output achieving almost 50 million views a month.
'There is a positive vibe across all three of the shows.'
