The dust continues to settle on the blockbuster finale of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 1 last month. The Game of Thrones spin-off, based on George R.R. Martin's Dunk and Egg stories, silenced the skeptics and smashed even the highest expectations by becoming an early contender for series of the year. Boasting a near-perfect 94% from critics on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the series helped put the franchise back on track following a divisive second season of House of the Dragon, all in time for the now confirmed Game of Thrones movie.
For fans of Martin's work looking to fill the void in their viewing since the finale of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 1, you'll find what you're looking for over on AMC. Executive-produced by Martin alongside the late Robert Redford, the neo-Western crime drama Dark Winds debuted its fourth season last month, with episodes released weekly until April 5, 2026. Season 4 saw the series expand beyond the Navajo Nation, as a race against the clock search for a missing girl takes the trio to 1970s Los Angeles. The most recent episode, "Ni' Ániidí (The New World)," saw the hunt for Billie intensify, as the past threatened to haunt Chee (Kiowa Gordon).
Thanks to this latest unmissable episode, Dark Winds has risen back to the top of the AMC+ streaming charts in the U.S. In doing so, it continues its battle with the Gareth Edwards and Matt Flannery-created Gangs of London, which has now dropped to second. The gritty British crime drama stars Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (Slow Horses), Joe Cole, Michelle Fairley, and more, and is considered AMC's answer to Steven Knight's hit series Peaky Blinders, which has just premiered its feature film in limited theaters.

'Dark Winds' Season 4 Continues a Perfect Streak
Image via AMCFor any season of a series to earn a perfect 100% score from critics on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes is an impressive achievement. Dark Winds Season 4 marked the fourth perfect score in a row for the neo-Western series, something most other shows cannot boast. In Michael John Petty's review of the season for Collider, he wrote, "If you were worried that Dark Winds may begin to dip in neo-Western quality over the years, don't be. Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito have plenty of spirit left to keep the show going for many years to come."
Dark Winds is streaming now on AMC+. Stay tuned to Collider for more streaming stories.
