After over four weeks of content, the Genshin Impact 6.4 livestream is set to occur soon, revealing all the new information about the upcoming patch, including when it will arrive, as well as its new character, the banner structure, story updates, and more. At the moment, the action RPG created by HoYoverse is in the second phase of Version 6.3. With it, players can pull for Zibai in Genshin Impact, a new Geo DPS who is focused on the new Lunar-Crystallize reaction.

Despite how strong she is and the fact that the powerful Columbina debuted in Phase 1 banners, the attention is already turning toward Version 6.4. HoYoverse will make official announcements during the livestream, though a lot has already been leaked via the ongoing beta tests for the update. This includes leaks about Varka in Genshin Impact 6.4, which will likely soon be confirmed, and much more.

Genshin Impact 6.4 Livestream - Date & Time

The Special Event Will Happen Soon

Alice looks happy in Genshin Impact.

Even though there was a minor delay with Honkai: Star Rail 4.0’s release date, another RPG under HoYoverse’s purview, this has not affected Genshin Impact 6.4, and the update is expected to arrive on schedule. With patches being spread six weeks apart, and livestreams occurring two weeks before, usually on Friday mornings, it’s possible to estimate when the Version 6.4 livestream will happen.

Because the release of Version 6.4 is currently set for February 25, the most likely date for the Genshin Impact 6.4 livestream is this Friday, February 13, two weeks prior to the update’s arrival. These events tend to happen in the morning, at around 7:00 or 8:00 am ET, though Version 6.3’s livestream occurred at around 0:00 am ET. An official statement on the date and time for the Version 6.4 livestream will likely be made in the days leading up to the special event.

Varka Makes His Debut As A Playable Unit

Varka rests the Wolf's Gravestone claymore on his shoulder in Genshin Impact.

Based on the Version 6.4 beta test leaks and HoYoverse’s official teasers so far, there will only be one new playable character in the update: Varka. The Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius is set to finally make his debut as a playable unit, after years of mentions of him. The leaks about Varka’s kit in Genshin Impact 6.4 signal that he is a 5-star Anemo character who fights with a claymore.

Based on these leaks, Varka is an Anemo DPS who automatically infuses elements from his party members into his dual claymores, allowing him to trigger Swirl reactions without necessarily swapping and simply by using his Skill and Burst. Varka will synergize well with Pyro, Hydro, Electro, and Cryo characters, all of whom provide elements that can be used by him. The leaks also show that Varka is a Hexerei character in Genshin Impact.

According to a leak provided by Hakushin, which was then shared by user CrescendoFluffy on Reddit, Escoffier, Skirk, and Flins are expected to be the rerun characters in Version 6.4. It’s unclear what order they will be presented in. However, it’s possible to guess that Flins will rerun in Phase 1, possibly alongside Varka’s debut, while Escoffier and Skirk both rerun in Phase 2.

It would make sense for Flins to rerun soon, as he just got a big buff from the recent release of Columbina in Genshin Impact. Escoffier and Skirk are a bit more disconnected from the Nod-Krai story arc themes, which means they could be pushed back into Phase 2 – and they operate as a unit, so having them in the same banner phase makes sense. The Genshin Impact 6.4 livestream will clarify this soon.

The Windblume Festival Returns

Blue glass breaks behind Columbina in Genshin Impact.

When it comes to narrative content, the Nod-Krai story arc should cool down a lot in Version 6.4, as the climax happened in Version 6.3. There should be more Nod-Krai-related content, but Version 6.4 will likely focus on other things, as hinted by the leaks. For example, the annual Windblume Festival will happen in Version 6.4, taking players back to Mondstadt. This also aligns with Varka’s release as a Monstadt character.

Furthermore, Varka will also get a new story quest, allowing you to better know the character from a narrative perspective beyond his role in Nod-Krai and aiding Columbina. A leak shows that an unexpected character appears in Genshin Impact 6.4 as part of Varka’s story quest, too, though it’s still unclear in which manner they will present themselves here.

Aside from this character-driven story quest and the Windblume Festival, the new update will also present a new world boss to face, according to leaks, and several other smaller events that will help compose the patch. These other pieces of content will likely be shown during the Version 6.4 livestream, even if not to their full extent. Regardless, you’ll get a better grasp of what to expect very soon.

Even though the game is slowing down after the climax of the Nod-Krai story arc in Version 6.3, it seems like there will still be a lot to do and uncover in the next update. HoYoverse tends not to reveal too many details so as to avoid spoilers, but we’ll get teasers about these new pieces of content and leak confirmations in the Genshin Impact 6.4 livestream in a few days.
