A new NPC model for a Genshin Impact 5.2 World Quest has leaked and their formal introduction in the game may change the course of the Natlan story arc for the better. The action RPG by HoYoverse is just a few weeks away from starting Version 5.2, the next major patch for the title. The update has not yet been formally announced or described by HoYoverse, though its contents should be teased soon, during the Genshin Impact 5.2 livestream set to occur in early November. If the leaks are true, the livestream should confirm loads of new playable content.

Among the leaked contents are the gameplay kits for Chasca and Ororon, the two confirmed new characters arriving with the patch. The update should also have several events to keep players entertained throughout the duration of the patch, and there are even rumors of at least one new Archon Quest in Version 5.2. Furthermore, there are several leaks about new Natlan map areas in Genshin Impact 5.2, which will certainly come with their own set of World Quests – and one of these missions may introduce an important new NPC, as evidenced by a new leak about the patch.

According to information obtained by the leaker known as Jelena, a new NPC model was leaked for Version 5.2. As seen in the leak, which was shared in a post tagged as “Story” on Reddit, the NPC model is not for a humanoid figure, but a dragon-like creature. Several images of this leaked NPC were shared, showing nearly a 360-degree view of its body model. The creature has a snake-like body, though it has arms extending to the side. Its body color varies between brown and beige with green accents. Its head is that of a dragon in Genshin Impact.

Wait, Genshin Impact 5.2 May Actually Have A New Archon Quest

Despite the rumors of the lack of Archon Quests in Genshin Impact 5.2, the next big patch for the RPG may actually feature new main story missions.

In addition to the body, this leaked NPC model wears clothes. The clothing is mostly represented by a large white robe with golden and green adornments. Furthermore, the leaked NPC has an accessory floating on its back, that seems like a catalyst of sorts. The item is split into two pieces that seem to form a sun-like form. The accessory seems to be missing one of its thirds, though its design may limit it to only two pieces. Based on the leaked NPC model, it is possible to speculate which Natlan character in Genshin Impact they are: Waxaklahun Ubah Kan.

This item on the NPC’s back seems to resemble wings, perhaps an allusion to their connection to dragons.

Who Is Waxaklahun Ubah Kan In Genshin Impact

The Character Is Also Known As The Sage Of The Stolen Flame

While Waxaklahun Ubah Kan has not formally made an appearance in the game, he is an important historical figure in Natlan’s backstory. Waxaklahun Ubah Kan is also known as the Sage of the Stolen Flame. He gained this title because of one of his most well-known deeds: he stole the control of Phlogiston from the dragons and taught humanity how to wield the Pyro-based element. Waxaklahun Ubah Kan has appeared in the form of murals and was first seen in story spoilers for Genshin Impact 5.0. As seen in these murals, he is connected to Xbalanque, the former Pyro Archon.

Genshin Impact 5.2 Leaks: New Imaginarium Theater Rewards Are Beyond Lackluster

New leaks about the rewards coming to the Imaginarium Theater in Genshin Impact 5.2 have emerged and they seem to be very disappointing.

Waxaklahun Ubah Kan is constantly seen along with Xbalanque, though little else is truly known about their friendship. It’s speculated that Waxaklahun Ubah Kan taught Xbalanque how to use Phlogiston, which may or may not have impacted on Xbalanque’s Ascension to the throne of Pyro Archon – for reference, Xbalanque became the Pyro Archon upon defeating the Pyro Sovereign, a dragon known as Xiuhcoatl. At the time, dragons ruled Natlan with tyranny, and it was humanity’s ascension that allowed them to escape the grasp of their overlords. Waxaklahun Ubah Kan is associated to this fight for freedom in Genshin Impact.

An important aspect in Waxaklahun Ubah Kan’s story is that, before Xbalanque’s ascension into the role of Pyro Archon, the Sage of the Stolen Flame created a trial to test the most capable warriors. This trial is the Domain of Blessing known as Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits, which drops the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City and Obsidian Codex Artifacts in Genshin Impact. After witnessing Natlan’s tribes wield the power of Phlogiston against each other rather than rise together, Waxaklahun Ubah Kan felt disheartened and disappeared from Natlan while also sealing the Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits.

What Waxaklahun Ubah Kan Could Mean For Natlan’s Story In Genshin Impact

The Sage Could Reveal More Details About Xbalanque

If the leak is accurate, there are some indications that Waxaklahun Ubah Kan may make an appearance as an NPC in the game. In fact, the leak states that the character will appear in an upcoming World Quest, which will likely be related to one of the new leaked areas in Natlan. The character’s appearance, alone, is already full of lore, but it also brings forth heavy implications for the story in Genshin Impact. The first is that something took Waxaklahun Ubah Kan out of his withdrawal from society or, perhaps, the Traveler was successful in finding their lair.

Genshin Impact 5.2's New Leaked Feature Is A Blessing For Veterans

A new system optimization is coming with Genshin Impact 5.2, according to leaks, and it may significantly improve the experience for veteran players.

If the Traveler meets up with Waxaklahun Ubah Kan, players may discover more about ancient Natlan and its struggles against the tyrant dragons that once ruled it because the Sage of the Stolen Flame was there when all of that happened. Additionally, Waxaklahun Ubah Kan could reveal more details about Xbalanque, the human who defeated Xiuhcoatl and rose to the throne of Pyro Archon. So far, there have been indications that Xbalanque is deceased, but that may not be entirely true. Xbalanque is known to be the One Entombed With The Primal Fire in the game.

There are several teasers indicating that Mavuika in Genshin Impact is hiding someone in a dark chamber, and that may very well be Xbalanque.

The return of Waxaklahun Ubah Kan could result in more details about Xbalanque and even reveal information about their fate in the Natlan story. As the one who taught Natlan humans how to use Phlogiston, he could even have an impact on the future of the story as humanity needs to assemble to fend of the incursion of the Abyss. There is a chance Waxaklahun Ubah Kan could once again work alongside humanity to fight off a threat to Natlan’s existence, perhaps guiding Mavuika’s heroes in Genshin Impact.

The leak about the NPC model should be taken with a grain of salt, as it may be incorrect, incomplete, or subject to change. Nevertheless, the prospect of the introduction of such an important historical figure from Natlan could certainly reveal many secrets regarding the Nation of Pyro’s ancient history – and it could also affect the outcome of future events, such as the Nation’s struggles with the Abyss. There are many ways to go with Waxaklahun Ubah Kan’s possible introduction as an NPC in Genshin Impact 5.2.
