Game Of Thrones: The Witch Queen Of Harrenhal Officially Announced

Game of Thrones has no shortage of incredible and iconic locations across Westeros, many of them as legendary as the franchise's characters themselves. From the imposing walls of the Red Keep to the icy halls of Winterfell, the jagged peaks of Dragonstone, and the dreaded Moon Door in the Eyrie's High Hall, these locations have become inseparable from the stories that define the Seven Kingdoms.

However, one of the most mysterious and compelling locations in George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire universe is Harrenhal, whose mystique has only grown since House of the Dragon's latest season wrapped up in recent months. Long associated with curses, ruin, and the lingering scars of Aegon the Conqueror's dragons, the enormous castle has always felt like a place where the boundary between history and something far stranger becomes difficult to define.

House of the Dragon leaned heavily into that mythos, raising new questions about the visions experienced within its walls, whether the castle itself holds some supernatural influence, and just how much of what unfolds there can be trusted. At the center of many of those questions is the enigmatic woman who seems to understand Harrenhal better than anyone else: Alys Rivers, the Witch Queen of Harrenhal.

Love or hate her, Alys Rivers is officially making a comeback in Game of Thrones: Conquest's new seasonal Dragonseeds Arc as a playable Hero with the title The Witch Queen of Harrenhal. She joins the roster alongside Hugh Hammer, the Ascendant Dragonrider, and is now available in-game as a Heroic Master of Whisperers.

The Witch Queen of Harrenhal sees what others cannot. Alys Rivers arrives as a Master of Whisperers, bringing powerful bonuses for Cavalry Defense Vs. Sats of Power. Will you heed her counsel?

Alys is built primarily around Cavalry support and defensive play, particularly when fighting over Seats of Power (SoPs). Her first Signature Skill increases Max March Size, while her second boosts Cavalry Defense against SoPs. Her wider Council skill set improves Heal Time, Wounded Capacity, and Cavalry Health against other players, while also increasing reinforcement march size for SoPs and providing additional Cavalry Defense against enemy Cavalry units. Taken together, she looks especially useful for players who rely heavily on Cavalry armies and want a sturdier defensive presence during large-scale territorial battles.

Her arrival also fits neatly with September's new Dragonseed Gear Set, which is likewise centered heavily around Cavalry. The equipment provides bonuses including Cavalry Attack and Health, Max March Size, March Speed against players, and several more specialized Cavalry bonuses for PvP and Seat of Power combat.

Hugh Hammer offers a very different complement to Alys as a Mythic Master of War, specializing instead in Ranged Attack and SoP warfare, with additional bonuses involving dragons, rallies, and march size. The month's new Ever-Ready Warrior Saddle also continues the game's latest Dragon Gear set, providing Dragon Attack, troop health, marching speed, and an Infantry Attack bonus against SoPs.

All of this is part of the larger Dragonseeds Arc running from September 1 through September 25, with several themed events still scheduled throughout the month. The Red Sowing and Of Salt and Sea run September 9–11, followed by the PvE Rally event Quenched Flames from September 14–16.

The second Arc Recipe event, A Tale of the Tavern, arrives September 22–24, while the broader calendar also includes returning PvE and PvP activities such as The Great Hunt, Tournament Grounds, The Climb, and War for the Throne. It's a packed September lineup built around the Dragonseeds storyline in House of the Dragon, with Alys Rivers and Hugh Hammer serving as two of Game of Thrones: Conquest's biggest new additions.
