Game Of Thrones Officially Bringing Back The Starks

It's been a while since we last heard from the Starks in Game of Thrones, considering all the potential spin-offs featuring various family members didn't end up coming to fruition. Recently, Maisie Williams offered an update on the once-rumored Arya Stark spin-off, revealing that she was surprised by reports of the project and remains uncertain about returning unless the character is given room to significantly evolve.

Kit Harington offered a similar update not long ago regarding the long-rumored Jon Snow spin-off, explaining that the project remains shelved because he and the creative team never found a story compelling enough to justify bringing the character back. Harington has said he feels Jon's original ending worked, and that any return would need to happen for the right creative reasons rather than simply continuing his story for its own sake.

As such, things have been looking bleak for the Starks since HBO's Game of Thrones ended, which may fit their vibe but is nonetheless disappointing for fans. However, there's an unexpected Stark family reunion happening this month with the launch of Hand of the King, arriving September 23 (via GoTL).

The Starks are officially reuniting in the upcoming Hand of the King Summon for Game of Thrones: Legends, which features most of the key Legendary Champions in House Stark, including Ned, Sansa, Arya, Robb, Catelyn, and of course, Jon Snow as the King in the North. The Summon arrives on Wednesday, September 23 and will be available until Wednesday, October 21.

This particular Summon will require Exalted Tokens, which are Legends' premium currency designed primarily for newly released Champions and special Exalted Summons. Introduced earlier this year, Exalted Tokens can be earned through sources such as Material Trials, Proving Grounds, and Goldroad rewards (players can also spend Gold on Exalted banners). Importantly, Exalted Summons offer twice the probability of receiving Legendary Shards compared to the previous Splendid Token Summons.

Summons are essentially Game of Thrones: Legends' character recruitment system, allowing players to spend different types of tokens for a chance at Champion Shards. Collecting enough shards allows Champions to be unlocked and subsequently developed, with different Summon banners offering their own pools of available characters.

Hand of the King is only one part of a busy September in Game of Thrones: Legends. The new Endless Winter Kingsroad season began September 14, with its premium Goldroad track offering shards for the Night King, while the current PvP season features Aemond Targaryen shards.

Battle of Blackwater Bay runs from September 17–21 alongside a Summon featuring Davos Seaworth, Daario Naharis, Daemon Targaryen, and the Night King. Assault on Rook’s Rest follows September 24–28, featuring its own Summon with Oberyn Martell, Sunfyre, Tywin Lannister, and Gregor Clegane. New Iconic Items are also arriving for Joffrey Baratheon on September 16 and A Knight of the Seven Kingdom's Egg on September 30.
