Game of Thrones fans are in a bit of a lull at the moment between seasons of the franchise's biggest spin-offs. With House of the Dragon season 3 giving audiences much to wonder about with season 4 and the highly anticipated second season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms on the way, there's plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
Further, outside of HBO's hugely popular spin-off series, fans are starting to get excited about the first big-screen adaptation from George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire franchise, the Aegon's Conquest film, which is likely to arrive in 2028. Fan casting has been spreading like wildfire online, with big-name actors such as Henry Cavill emerging as popular choices among viewers for the lead role.
However, while fan theories and speculation are fun, Game of Thrones enthusiasts have an exciting new upcoming release to look forward to this month, as Endless Winter is officially set to arrive on Monday, September 14 (via GoTL).
Game Of Thrones: Endless Winter Kicks Off On September 14

Game of Thrones: Endless Winter is an exciting upcoming limited-time "Kingsroad" seasonal event for the highly rated mobile match-3 RPG, Game of Thrones: Legends. The new season is scheduled to begin on September 14 at 3:00AM ET and run through October 12 at 2:00AM ET, giving players nearly a month to work their way through its reward track.
As with previous Kingsroad seasons, players can complete Daily and Weekly Quests to earn points, advance through tiers, and collect rewards such as Champion Shards and Summoning Tokens. The biggest prize this time around is tied to the premium Goldroad Pass, which will include Champion Shards for the Legendary Night King.
For those unfamiliar with the system, Kingsroad essentially functions as Game of Thrones: Legends' recurring seasonal progression event. Completing objectives awards points that push players into higher reward tiers, while the paid Goldroad Pass adds a second set of premium rewards alongside whatever has been earned on the standard Kingsroad.
Previous seasons have offered everything from Summoning Tokens and Champion Shards to Legendary Gear, Valyrian Essence, Skill Books, and other upgrade materials through Goldroad, with bonus reward chests also becoming available after reaching the main tier cap.
Endless Winter is only part of what Zynga has planned for September. The current Raven's Choice Kingsroad, featuring Legendary Bran Stark shards through its Goldroad Pass, will remain active until September 14. A new PvP reward season will then offer Aemond Targaryen Champion Shards from September 14 through October 11, while the returning A Blood Debt Legend Trial will give players another opportunity to earn Legendary Oberyn Martell shards.
Developed by Zynga, Game of Thrones: Legends is a free-to-play match-3 puzzle RPG that combines traditional gem-matching battles with team-building mechanics, allowing players to collect and upgrade characters, dragons, and equipment from Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Players can tackle a campaign, compete in PvP, join Alliances, and participate in regularly rotating events based on famous moments from Game of Thrones. It has also become one of the most popular mobile games out there, currently sitting at 4.8/5 from roughly 7,300 App Store ratings and 4.5/5 from more than 33,000 Google Play reviews, with the latter reporting over one million downloads, and it's well worth checking out if you're a longtime fan of the franchise.
