James is a gaming writer from London who has spent thousands of hours exploring titles from every genre. Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. When he's not playing or writing, he can usually be found supporting his beloved Brentford FC.
Game of Thrones is undoubtedly one of the more popular creations in modern fantasy, and George RR Martin's work continues to draw in millions of fans the world over. Though the next book is seemingly never going to come out, there's still plenty of releases tied to the franchise that keeps it going in the minds of fans.
Spin-offs like House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms both seem to be doing fairly well, even if they haven't been able to recapture the magic of those early seasons of the original show. One area where Game of Thrones fans have been very underserved is in video games, but fans have made sure that they don't need to wait for developers to pull their finger out.

TaleWorlds Entertainment
If you're looking for a Game of Thrones fix, you could certainly do a lot worse than loading up TaleWorlds Entertainment's all-time classic Mount & Blade: Warband and installing the A World of Ice and Fire mod.
In case you didn't know already, Mount & Blade: Warband is an open-world RPG that allows players to forge their own destinies in a medieval world, building up an army and taking on the great empires of the world. That makes it the perfect candidate for a Game of Thrones overhaul mod, and that's where A World of Ice and Fire comes in.
As you might expect, the download changes the entire world, transforming the standard landmass into Westeros and Essos, with the final product clocking in at three times the size of the base game. If that wasn't enough, there are more than 30 individual factions for you to encounter, as well as iconic characters from the series who all behave similarly to their appearances in other works.
It also gives plenty of opportunities to play in different ways, aside from just becoming the biggest and baddest military commander around. You can take up the dangerous job of bounty hunting, picking up tips from tavern keepers about dastardly criminals who might be in the area.
It's one of the most comprehensive overhaul mods you'll find for any game, and it's also a hugely faithful recreation of the world the author originally created.
The mod is available to download entirely for free, and it's easily one of the best times you can have in a video game if you're a Game of Thrones fan. There also isn't too much coming down the official pipeline either, so we're going to have to continue making fun for ourselves for some time to come yet.
