Now,Teen Vogue has confirmed Adults season 2 will premiere some time in August 2026 on FX and Hulu, following its exclusive premiere at Tribeca Film Festival on June 11, 2026. Series creators Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw opened up about what to expect from the new season as well, confirming that the approach will involve "what it means to grow up with four other people strapped to your back." It's an involved season that will see its core characters in various situations that will be all about how they adapt, with Samir at the center of it all.
In addition to their description of season 2, which will run for eight episodes total, Kronengold and Shaw also expressed just how long they want the show to run for in total. They say that they already have ideas for where season 3 could go, but the show could continue "until Samir figures out what ‘microwave safe’ means," implying it'll be around for quite some time. Shaw said the slow evolution of the series' characters opens the door for a wide range of stories and a lengthy amount of time on the air:
What is such a privilege about this kind of show is that there’s so many stories to tell within it. Like all of our favorite friend group comedies, it’s always two steps forward, one step back, but watching them navigate things that start to feel a little more grown up is such a special part of the show. We want to watch these characters very slowly evolve, and we get to tell new stories as they start to grow up a teeny bit.
FX and Hulu have a number of hit comedies coming this year, from The Bear season 5, which will end the comedy-drama series, to the ongoing Not Suitable for Work, which managed to break records for Hulu days after its release. Adults season 2 appears poised to leave its own mark, with the show set to premiere at the tail end of the summer, giving all the other series on the platform time to breathe while taking space of their own.
Adults season 1 ended with Paul Baker and Anton getting married, the pair even sharing a kiss despite the marriage being so Paul Baker's visa doesn't expire. The five friends are still living under the same roof together, too, something that will seemingly be a matter of contention for Samir going into season 2. The upcoming season has been described by the creators as having an expanded roster of guest stars and noteworthy events, something that will aid in the show's world expanding while staying true to what makes it work so well.
With Adults on its way back, season 2's Tribeca Film Festival premiere means early reactions are going to be on their way soon. Because the show has already impressed both critics and audiences in its approach during season 1, it appears that season 2 will be just as poised to make an important impact. As the show approaches its return, more may be revealed ahead of when it begins streaming.
