Less than a month after nearly 12 million pounds of meat was recalled due to a listeria risk, hundreds of frozen waffle products have been recalled due to the same contaminant.

TreeHouse Foods has announced that it is recalling hundreds of waffle products because there is a possibility they have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The recalled products were available for purchase throughout the US and Canada, sold under various store-brand or generic names, including Walmart's Great Value, Schnucks, Target's Good & Gather, Price Chopper, Kodiak and more.

Some of the recalled products include:

  • Best Choice 12.3oz Chocolate Chip Waffles
  • Good and Gather 10.7oz Buttermilk Vanilla Waffles
  • Good and Gather 12.3oz Blueberry Waffles
  • Great Value 12.3oz Homestyle Waffles
  • Great Value 560g Blueberry Waffles
  • Kodiak Cakes 13.4oz Vanilla Buttermilk Waffles

Many of the products included in the recall list have already been removed from the chain store's websites. You can find the full list of the recalled frozen waffles here along with the lot codes and best buy dates. Photos of the products can be found here.

Customers are urged to check their freezers for any of these products and dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

What is listeria monocytogenes?
