Epic Games have officially launched the Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2 event, which will see the return of the iconic map and points of interest from 2017-2018. A host of nostalgic features will be available in the gamemode between January 31 to March 25, along with a dedicated OG Battle Pass with vintage Outfits.

The second iteration of the Fortnite OG event comes after the huge popularity of its first addition at the end of 2023, with millions of players logging in to experience the origins of the battle royale sensation. Its success saw the OG game mode return as an indefinite game mode at the end of 2024, with this updated OG Chapter 1 Season 2 event reintroducing some fan-favorite locations and weaponry. Fortnite looks to be capitalizing on a great 2024, which saw the addition of new game modes like Fortnite Ballistic and events like Remix: The Finale.

OG Loot, Like The Boogie Bomb, Is Back In Fortnite OG

The Loot Pool Will Expand Throughout The Event

Longtime fans of Fortnite will be happy to see the return of iconic loot that defined the early days of the battle royale game. Players will once again be able to equip the Boogie Bomb, a fan-favorite throwable that will force enemies (or even squadmates) into a frenzied dance, leaving the adversaries vulnerable to attacks. As Epic has stated in their blog post unveiling the Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2 event, "Throw this funky orb into the fray to unleash a momentary, disco-fueled dance party on your foes."

In addition to the Boogie Bomb, the loot availability has been expanded for the new Fortnite OG event, with classic items like the Small Shield Potion and the Multi-Surface Damage Trap being added immediately from January 31. As the season progresses, various other vintage gear will be reintroduced, like the aforementioned Boogie Bomb, the Cozy Campfire, Chug Jug, Minigun, Impulse Grenade, and Crossbow, which will all aim to enrich the original gameplay experience of Fortnite OG, in contrast with the modern Fortnite mechanics.

An All-New Battlepass Has Arrived In Fortnite OG

Inspired By Classic Outfits From 2017

Complementing the return of classic loot in Fortnite OG is the introduction of a new OG Pass, which will offer 45 tiers of rewards which are all based on aspects of the late 2017 Fortnite experience. Skins and items that are reminiscent of iconic Outfits like Sparkle Specialist and Black Knight will be available in the OG Pass, along with Cuddle Team Leader. Sparkle Diva is available immediately upon the purchase of the battle pass, which will set players back 1000 V-Bucks. Like other battle passes in Fortnite, XP can be obtained in any Fortnite experience to claim the rewards.

Veteran Fortnite players will be able to drop into classic POIs like Snobby Shores and Tilted Towers, and newcomers will be looking to experience the OG Fortnite experience for the first time. The blend of older locations, with the updated mechanics of modern Fortnite gameplay, will be available until March 25, so gamers have plenty of time to experience Fortnite OG.
