Bill Clinton is on the mend.

The former President of the United States is recovering after being hospitalized in Washington, D.C. for a fever, a spokesperson for Clinton confirmed to NBC News

"President Clinton has been admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for testing and observation after developing a fever," Angel Ureña, Deputy Chief of Staff for Clinton, told NBC in a Dec. 23 statement. "He is in good spirits and grateful for the care he is receiving."

Clinton's wife Hillary Clinton and daughter Chelsea Clinton have yet to speak out publicly on his recovery.

This isn't the first health scare Clinton has weathered since leaving office in 2001. The politician received worldwide attention in 2004 when he underwent a quadruple bypass operation at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He returned to the same hospital for another heart procedure six years later to have two stents inserted into a coronary artery.

Clinton's hospitalization comes hot off the heels of the 2024 election, during which he hit the campaign trails for many democrats, including presidential hopeful Kamala Harris, who lost to opponent President-Elect Donald Trump last month.

“In 2024, we’ve got a pretty clear choice, it seems to me,” Clinton told voters during an Aug. 21 speech at the Democratic National Convention. "Kamala is for the people. The other guy is about me, myself and I.”

Clinton—who has spoken at every Democratic convention since 1976—also got sentimental while addressing his legacy with the event, which takes place every four years.

“I want to say this from the bottom of my heart,” he admitted to the crowd. “I have no idea how many more of these I’ll be able to come to.”
