Hendler cut a youthful figure in a pale blue denim dress with a long-sleeved pink shirt underneath while out in Los Angeles.
The actress, who is rarely spotted in public, was also joined by her husband, Steven Reizes, whom she tied the knot with in 1990.
Hendler broke out in 1981 with the NBC sitcom Gimme A Break!, which aired for six seasons until 1987.
She starred on the first five seasons as Julie Kanisky Maxwell, the middle daughter of Police Chief Carl 'Chief' Kanisky (played by Dolph Sweet).
Nell Carter led Gimme A Break! as a former singer who agreed to watch to become Chief's housekeeper to watch over his family as a favor to her dying friend, his wife.
Hendler's character Julie was written out of the series' sixth and final season after tying the knot and getting pregnant in the previous season.

Hendler's entertainment career goes all the way back to when she was a baby, as she began modeling while less than a year old, according to Virginia's Daily Press.
The actress, who was born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, relocated to California with her mother, who raised her, and her two siblings.
After graduating from Beverly Hills High School, Hendler returned to acting professionally as an adult while studying at UCLA.
During her stint on Gimme A Break!, Hendler appeared opposite Michael J. Fox in the 1983 TV movie High School USA, and she appeared on game shows throughout the decade, including the $25,000 Pyramid, the $100,000 Pyramid and Super Password.
Hendler never had a success as big as Gimme A Break! after her time on the series ended, but she continued to regularly appear in guest roles on shows including Harry And The Hendersons, Charmed, The West Wing, Becker, Without A Trace and ER.
More recently, she appeared on shows including Young Sheldon, The Goldbergs and Tim Robinson's critically acclaimed Netflix sketch-comedy series I Think You Should Leave.
