According to data from FlixPatrol, The Westies recently hit the mark of 100 days on the MGM+ TOP 10 Overall (from Amazon Channels) chart. This is a major feat for the new crime thriller series, as not only is it a long run, with The Westies currently trending on the streamer for 104 days, but it comes in a chart that features both movies and TV shows, making the MGM+ list quite competitive. Right now, The Westies holds the biggest streak on the MGM+ chart by far, with the closest entry on the list being Liam Neeson's Cold Storage, at 75 days.

When it comes to the show's position on the MGM+ daily Top 10 Overall chart, The Westies is also hanging on to the list, currently standing as the streamer's 8th most popular movie or TV show. It ranks higher than Boo 2! A Madea Halloween, the Western classic Tombstone, and Neeson's Cold Storage. At the very top of the MGM+ chart is Treasure Island, the new adventure series based on the classic story, which features actors like David Oyelowo, Hayley Atwell, and more. The Westies' new streaming milestone comes as the crime series' future hangs in the balance.

What's The Latest On The Crime Thriller's Future?

At the time of writing, The Westies has yet to be renewed for season 2 on MGM+. The crime drama debuted on the streaming service on July 12 with a two-episode premiere. Welliver's crime series then released the rest of season 1's eight episodes weekly, concluding on August 23.

Waiting a few months before announcing a renewal is par for the course in the streaming age, and with a solid 74% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, and a similar 76% audience score, as well as the show's new streaming milestone, The Westies has a good chance of returning for more episodes on MGM+. Speaking to ScreenRant, multiple The Westies cast members teased their hopes for season 2, so the plan is to come back for more, pending on a green light.
