FL4MUS expresses excitement for Major playoffs after bench period

1 hour ago 5

Getting benched in professional Counter-Strike is a bit like being put in time-out, except the time-out lasts months and your career trajectory hangs in the balance. For Timur “FL4MUS” Marev, that period of competitive limbo appears to be firmly in the rearview mirror.

The 21-year-old Russian rifler is heading into the IEM Cologne Major 2026 playoffs with BetBoom Team, and he sounds like someone who genuinely appreciates the opportunity. In a recent HLTV clip, FL4MUS kept it refreshingly simple about his mindset heading into the biggest matches of his career.

“I’m just happy to play good CS.”

From the bench to the biggest stage

Born on August 14, 2004, Marev cut his teeth in the CIS-region competitive scene before catching the attention of larger organizations. His early career included time with GamerLegion, where he earned his first taste of Major competition.

The move to Virtus.pro in late 2024 and early 2025 seemed like the kind of step up that could define a young player’s trajectory. Virtus.pro benched FL4MUS in June 2025, leaving him in the competitive wilderness. A loan spell with OG followed, along with participation in tier-two events with teams like 9BOOMPRO, before FL4MUS found his way to BetBoom Team.

This marks his second Major appearance overall, following the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025.

The volatility of young CS2 careers

With career earnings totaling approximately $53,000, FL4MUS isn’t exactly swimming in prize money by top-tier CS2 standards. That figure puts into perspective just how much of professional Counter-Strike’s financial reality is concentrated at the very top.

What the playoffs mean for FL4MUS and BetBoom

The IEM Cologne Major 2026 playoffs are set to begin around June 18, 2026. FL4MUS’s comment about being happy to “play good CS” was made in June 2026, shortly before the upcoming playoffs.
